Have been a big fan of the bakery for a long time. I've purchased their white canned fruit cakes many times and been very impressed but this time I tried the Black Forest. What a big mistake. It was dry,crumbly and really didn't have much flavor. I was told there would be a rum syrup in the middle and there was nothing like that. Their presentation with all the fruit on top was lovely but the quality of the cake was really bad. Quite embarrassing when you are buying for a office get together and you have to listen to all the comments on how dry the cake is. If you buy cake from this bakery try the white, canned or fresh fruit cake but STAY AWAY FROM THE BLACK FOREST! Real Black Forest has a cherry filling, this one had a very small portion of icing.
