I was a little confused as to what type of food this restaurant served when I walked in. There are Egyptian art pieces in the entrance way of the interior, lots of wood details, and old wall paper, which looked very dated. But this adventure was not planned as I had just finished my morning walk and I was very hungry! The waitress seated me promptly, served me water, and my juice that I had ordered. She then handed me a huge, heavy menu with too many items to choose from. I flopped the first page over to see the breakfast items and ordered Tomas Cooks "The Mess" omelet. It came with hash browns and toast. The omelet was huge!!! The various vegetables gave it a fresh flavor, but other than that, it lacked seasoning and was very bland. The hash browns were cubed and crispy, and they had not been seasoned as well. My poor hash browns were sad :( The little bit of parsley flakes that had been placed on them had now all fallen off. The restaurant owner had come over to greet me just before my food had arrived, he said they most recently purchased this restaurant and were going to under go a change of menu and such in about 2 months. So, I look forward to trying something then.

Absolutely horrible food and customer service. We ordered fish and chips. The fish was some no name brand deep fried junk and was more like a fish stick. The fries were soggy and greasy. Additionally, the server on the phone said there would be some veggies in the order already when we asked about coleslaw as a substitute. She also said there would be gravy. Guess what? No gravy. Their portions for tartar sauce was even worse. One tiny tub for two fish. We asked for extra tartar sauce and they charged us extra but all they gave was one additional little tub. This is the worst place to order food and to expect nice customer service. 100% WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

We came in to the city tonight and remembered years ago the exceptional food and service we once had here. I ordered Greek back ribs ( they were old pork side ribs ) and my wife ordered chicken asparagus with cheese and she got a slab of fried chicken breast . When o confronted the waitress she looked at me like we didn’t know what we were talking about. Also the menu gives you a choice of cheese bread or garlic bread with each meal, so we ordered cheese bread and when we asked for cheese bread they said sorry we are out but you can pay $2.00 more per slice and we can make it for you. I will never be back again . Not the Thomas cook I was accustomed too.

It’s called the Arena…my husband was hoping for hockey theme but alas it would just confuse us more once we entered. Confusing art on the walls like someone’s grandma decorated with all the art she ever owned in a lifetime, tired wallpaper and colour palette, but it was clean. There was no need for a reservation because there was only a few other tables occupied at 6pm on a Friday. And we’d had a long day and didn’t want to search for something else. Our hotel was just across the path. We were tempted by the special on steak and lobster but I felt like I should have ordered otherwise. My husband was exhausted from his flight and pushed his plate away once he sampled the T bone steak (we both ordered Med Rare but received Med-well) and cold dry overcooked lobster. I sent my steak back and they brought out one that was properly cooked. Actually, I give the owner credit because he did come out and ask about our food once it hit the table and he was the one to order a redo. My potato was not hot enough to melt the butter so once the butter and sour cream were on it I just gave up and ate it cold after I removed the chunk of unmelted butter. Our server was excellent, very attentive and made sure everything else was to our liking but its difficult to be a server in a slow restaurant…tips suck and they will lose her if they don’t get it together. They comped our second beer to make up for the disappointment which was appreciated.

Edit-thank you Raj for reaching out and asking us back but we couldn’t with our schedule. I think your desire to succeed and your willingness to ask the tough questions will help you reach your goal of a thriving restaurant. yes I will try again if I return to Saskatoon. What does...

My daughter and I like to go to Thomas Cook for dry ribs because they are delicious. Today we took a friend of hers with us. We had ribs and fries and they were delicious, as per usual. The reasons we are giving only a two star rating are as follows. The dry ribs are to come with a choice of dipping sauce, as stated in the menu. They are 13.99. We were charged 2.99 for the hot sauce that we chose as a dipping sauce. I fully believe the charge is a total cash grab. We should of at least been told of such an unnecessary charge. Secondly, we noticed red smudges on our Pepsi glasses. At first we thought they were lip stick that the dish washer didn't catch because that happens. After inquiring with a server, she told us they have been washed, it's the Pepsi logo on the glasses rubbing off from all the different glasses. The glasses ALL had these smudges on them that could be removed by rubbing on the smudges. She said the restaurant was aware of this issue yet they still use the glasses. That is beyond gross and most likely toxic. I realize that I'm eating at a Thomas Cook restaurant so my expectations should be low, but ridiculously over charging and using dirty glassware knowingly is pretty weak, even for this level of establishment. I may still order dry ribs from this place, but only for pick up, never will I dine in again. I'll put my own hot sauce on them and avoid the...

I really did enjoy this place a few times usually order take out from here , have had some good pizza and ribs from here and never had to complain. Until now..! last night , me and my girlfriend decided to order from here and we ordered #2 combo ( dry ribs , Greek salad & cheese toast with honey garlic dipping sauce ). Just to share for a late snack.I paid $17.00 for this meal and was totally unsatisfied.. at first the dry ribs were warm at the top of the tray but then as we started eating more towards the middle and bottom.. every dry rib was cold I didn't think anything of it but was starting to worry. Like what if we get sick so we stopped eating them. Salad was amazing.. but the dry ribs made us so sick.. after about 30 minutes me and her were feeling nauseated and severely hot. It turns out we got food poisoning all night I was having to run to the bathroom and same with her. I wanted to call the restaurant to complain. Though I've heard stories where these people have called them to complain but they turn out giving a negative response or just simply hang up on you so I didn't bother. Though I'm warning people do not order dry ribs or if you do please check them before paying for them because I ended up sick horribly sick. Just don't want this to happen to anyone else what a waste of money !! Very...
