ROYAL PAAN SASKATOON — Restaurant in Saskatoon

SCAM alert! They serve FROZEN paratha with paneer masala. The Paneer curry is also not made at the restaurant. We told the server to take the dish back and replace it with Pav Bhaji or Chole Bhature. He said that those are also not made in the restaurant so I’m guessing it’s frozen ready-to-eat stuff. Why would someone go to a restaurant to eat frozen food? I saw the Kathi roll is also served inside frozen paratha. The other joke is Dahi Kachori Puri. It’s actually Dahi Puri! No Kachori! The Sambhar is no less than masala pani! We liked their Paan and Falooda but I guess we will not go back again. They basically don’t care about their customers. To the owner, look at your reviews. You guys have just opened up in Saskatoon. Your customers are telling you something. Would you eat somewhere outside and pay a premium for...

Positive points: Great food. If you are fan of dosa, this is the best place in Saskatoon at this moment. So many varieties. If you like crispy, mention that while ordering. Great vegetarian menu. Spacious inside. Comfortable seating arrangements. Location wise pretty good too. Parking could be an issue. But that's everywhere in downtown. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Time between ordering and serving is minimal. Negative points: Its called Royal Paan for a reason People come here for Paans. And should get them. Running out of the main attraction by early evening, is not a good sign. Menu has indo-chinese items. But the day I visited, none of them were available. Another not so good sign!

Overall, a solid four star. If they don't run out of food to serve so early in the day, five...

The food really bad. There was a small hair on the plate as well. I ordered a kathi roll and mango lassi. The Kathi roll was basically a burrito with tons of cabbage and panner. I had Kathi roll in past in a different province. That roll was a roll in paratha with vegetables and panner whereas the Kathi roll that I had was a burrito drenched in oil. It was soooo oily that we couldn’t even eat the the ends. The lassi was basically canned mango juice with artificial flavours. It ended up giving me a sore throat for days!I My friends had ordered a masala dosa which had the worst portion. The dosa was big and huge but the masala in it was not proportionate to the dosa. Although the paan was okay and better than the food. But I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone...
