This review is not about the restaurant’s food, but about the lack of ethics, business values and empathy of the owners.
They contacted the company where I work to get online ordering on their website “ASAP” during the COVID19 crisis. We offered them a completely free promotion for 3 month in order to help them in the pandemic time, we did not charge a setup or anything for the outsource services we had to pay from our "pocket" in order to create their online ordering. They requested if we could have them online within 3 days, we told them that unfortunately not without a small fee of $75 as a rush setup, other wise they would need to wait 7 days. They chose to wait the 7 days and signed the agreement for the free 3 months promo with no obligation to continue after.
7 days later we had all ready for them, but because it took us 7 days they have already opt for another provided and our services no needed anymore. We told them is ok, but we would really appreciate if they could at least cover the expenses we had in server, ssl certificate and domain that we spent for them, only 125CAD. They said yes, 2 weeks after they do not respond anymore. The person I was dealing and that “disappear” was Kendra.
I hope that this review about their values/ethics is helpful for you if you ever plan to do business with Kendra or the Restaurant
Thanks.
WRITTEN AFTER PARVIZ REPLY TO MY ORIGINAL COMMENT - June23rd.
After reading the reply here from Parviz, is clear that these people are not the most honest and try to manipulate & take advantage of situations. When you read their response to their good restaurant's reviews in google they are such “Wonderfull” people with so many “Beautiful” words. But when having to behave in an ethic business manner they just lie or “disappear”, double standard at its best.
Funny thing is that shortly after my original review here, I got an email from Parviz offering to pay the unpaid invoice if I removed my original comment, funny, having in consideration that for the past 10 days or so, they did not reply to my email or txt regarding this pending invoice.
To Parviz's email I replied “No Thanks”. This is not about 125CAD but about values. They requested a free profesional development (which cannot be done in 24 hrs, or it can, but will perform as a 24hrs dev.) knowing the timing in advanced, making us spend time and resources when they already knew they were not going to take it as it was out of their expected time and already working with someone else. Then they “agreed" to pay for the expenses we paid upfront for them (only 125CAD), but they never came back to do the payment or answered our emails or txt (..but Parviz reach to my email to pay the invoice right after I left this original review).
Furthermore they now lie about the timing provided; as proof we have their dated signed agreement and 7 days after their online order ready, picture attached, plus my calls with Kendra (our ivr records all the calls for quality/training).
Also I believe they do not understand the meaning of start-up, 8 years in the market / 1.5K restaurants online does not qualify as a startup Parviz (:
All the best with your “24hrs dev" online system. I hope they did it for free for you as when we offered you a 3 days turn around for 75CAD, Kendra said: “No, we rather wait for the 7 days free turn around” (...also recorded by our ivr - to bad we can not attached audio files in here)
Good bye Parviz and you guys should work in your moral compass or at least if you are going to lie online be sure that the other person doesn't have a way to show that you are lying as I just attached the...
Read moreThey are one of my favourite cafes to go to in Saskatoon because they have late hours so I’m able to study from evening to closing (and they have a very tasty tea menu! 🫖).
I’ve only been a few times and mainly tried their teas but at my last visit, I tried one of their dishes and it incredible! My first taste at Persian cuisine and I loved it 🤤
I got the Chicken & Eggplant (khoresh badenjan). It’s braised chicken and roasted eggplant in tomato sauce on a bed of rice 🍚 the chicken was oh so tender and eggplants were so soft 🤤 the tomato sauce had a hint of spice that I can’t quite put my words to describe it! All that on rice made it the perfect meal for me 😋 I devoured as much as I could with some leftover (the sprouts mainly - not a fan of those 🤫).
For drinks, I was there for quite a while so I got to try their coconut matcha latté 🍵 and lemon green detox 🫖 I loved both, however, when I ordered, out of habit I asked for oat milk - not thinking if it’s already made with coconut milk or dairy milk 🤦🏻♀️ either way it was delish - it still had strong coconut flavour! Except I paid $0.50 extra for the oat milk so came out to $7+ after tax…seems a bit too much for a small cup.
For the tea, it came out in a big pot and on a beautiful coaster! I mean it didn’t affect the taste but it was nice able to refill my tea from the big pot and the coaster was just a pretty visual 🤗
On one of my previous visits, I tried their Paradise Persian Iced Tea - definitely a fav and one of their desserts. I think it was their tiramisu but regardless - it was rich and creamy and amazing 🍰
Oh and their service 👌🏻 again I was there for a long time so I find the later afternoon/evening staff was incredible! The owner (I think) and the staff came to check on me and ensured that they can get me hot water refill when I need it.
Overall, definitely one of my favs cafe to go to for study time and would go back to enjoy some...
Read moreThis place is amazing! We chance upon this looking for a place to have lunch. at first we went in the take out counter and got disappointed but then realized there is actually the cafe right next door. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the owner, Doug, and his lovely server. the place is lovely and very cozy, and very clean!! It has a modern design and a few touches and accents of Persian inspiration.
We ordered the Pineapple lemonade tea and it was delightful. It didn’t take long for all our orders to arrive and it was amazing.
First arrived the starter platter: it had hummus, tzatziki and roasted eggplant dip and came with toasted flat bread and various pickles and fresh veggies.
Then our main meals: Combi platter of Beef Kebab and Chicken, basmati rice, onion and parsley salad and a grilled tomato. This meal is good for 2 people!! I am a 6 for Filipino and I am stuffed after finishing this meal) My sisters ordered a kebab platter and they just shared and still they were not able to finish it. We finished our meal with dessert: Cheesecake, chocolate cupcake and another one i don’t remember. all I remember is that everything was DELICIOUS!!! My other sister had the Chicken wrap and she was stuffed after eating it. She was already full but couldn’t stop eating it.
Everything was freshly made, the meat was was nicely seasoned and he offered some sumac on the side which really brightened up the flavour of the foods.
Doug was delightful and he even shared with us their house tea, it was. Black tea with cardamom and it reminded all of us when we had a similar restaurant back in the day Philippines. He was very sweet to the kids and even played a magic trick with them and gave them some dark chocolate, yum! My sister who now lives in Saskatoon will be a regular here….and of course we will be too...
