Great location, clean and attractive facility. However when I took my family Sunday morning just gone the staff up front were miserable. Not friendly not polite and certainly not welcoming. I skipped making a cooked breakfast for my family in my own kitchen for this!!!! Last time we came here 3 weeks prior it was different staff up front and much more friendly and welcoming. Also I ordered a croissant and asked if it could be warmed up! I got a “ no we don’t do that” pardon me ? I have never heard of that before especially in a bakery. Plus I should point out that the croissants are all over baked as they are very dark and crispy. I am from Europe and have eaten so many croissants in my lifetime. Same goes for the loaves of bread. Tasty but to dark. We love this place but if you expect me to keep bringing my family there please address these issues. I searched everywhere for a phone number to call but could not find one. I wanted to call to speak with the owner instead of leaving a...

Had my first visit there today. I arrived early in the morning so the parking was easy. However I’ve waited almost 10 minutes to be served as there was only one worker at the front and she was making coffee and grinding beans. I normally wouldn’t think about it but I was holding a very heavy baby, carrying a diaper bag and also trying to manage a roaming toddler. And I waited, waited and waited…. Until finally another worker from the back saw me and eventually greeted and served me. I asked if they had a high chair as I would have ordered a drink to sit down with my kids and unfortunately they didn’t have any one either. I ordered over $40 of goods and it felt very overpriced even given it’s organic. I would have a second thought if I wanted to...

Visited becuase everyone seems to love it here. Got 2 baguette, a croissant and a rye bread. The people here are very friendly and the shop is very nice. It is a bit strange for a bakery to charge $0.5 for slicing bread though. The bread unfortunately is a let down. The croissant is incredibly dense, a bit soggy on the outside, not flakey and has a hint of bitter taste. The baguette has a nice crust but is also incredibly dense and the inside lack the chew of a good baguette. The taste of all their bread is also a bit strange, lacking the typical wheaty aroma found in freshly baked bread, might be a result of them using their own flour? It is nice for them to have a mill and makes organic flour on-site but the bread is unfortunately...

The Night Oven Bakery is considered one of the city's staples for baking. If it isn't, it should be. Loaves are a bit more expensive than your grocery store loaves, but the quality also matches the price. The flour is stone milled in-house, breads are sourdough leavened without the use of commercial yeasts and baked in a wood-fired oven, pastries are whole grain, everything is delicious. The wheat milled for flour is all grown in Saskatchewan. If there ever was a local bakery/patisserie, this is it. Even the wood-fired oven was hand-built by Bryn. This is a business that will be here for years to come. So you may as well eat good food for those years.

After working and school me and the boys decided to seek our fortune in pastry, we traveled across town to discover what new flavors we could introduce to our thriving pallets, to our surprise the night Oven was sitting in the corner. We only had half an hour to make our way before it was closed. the thought ran through my mind why would it be called night oven bakery when it's closed at night. Probably because they do all the baking at night I think I'm happy with that answer. Inside we were greeted with a friendly smiley face and we tried a delicious new French pastry.

Really like the new location which is a short walk from Riversdale. Pastry portion sizes are quite large and competitively priced. Could have had a pic of the chocolate croissant but my wife was already eating it before we got out of the store. Would have been 5 stars, but it was a warm day and their cold beverage selection was severly lacking (only iced coffee and kombucha). Some non-carbonated options would be nice (like iced tea or cold pressed fruit juice). Will be back as we can't wait to try the sourdough and pizza.
