Got here about an hour before close. I originally intended to go to another cafe, but they were closed down for the day so i ended up having to come here. I was starving, ordered a sandwich and a matcha latte, and they told me they were no longer doing lunch (it was 4:05 and they stop serving food an hour before close)… already disappointed as why would they stay open another hour if they weren’t even gonna serve most of their menu? so instead i ordered the latte and a blondie. the blondie was pretty decent, quite sugary but thats expected from most places. the matcha latte was extremely frothy. was pretty much 70% froth, and also very bitter. couldn’t even finish it. the atmosphere wasn’t that great either, felt very uncomfortable, all tables placed closely together, and the seats were hard as a rock. and to start on the service, i had to stay a bit anyways so i could get my phone to charge since it was low, and it was only 4:30 anyway (they closed at 5). the girl (brunette, curly hair, ponytail) proceeded to exclaim LOUDLY to her coworker, in front of me, side eyeing me, about how they should “start sweeping” and how BADLY she wanted to go home, sarcastically, making sure i heard, while her coworker (man with glasses, dark hair) laughed. then the guy proceeded to wipe down all the tables and seats around me, taking his sweet time, waiting for me to leave (it was about 4:40 at this point). the whole interaction was extremely rude, especially considering that they had half an hour before they needed to close anyway, and were acting like children. would not recommend this place for anyone. if you’re looking for a nice cafe in that area, i’d recommend...
Read moreI called an hour before they closed because I wanted to order a sandwich. I looked through their online menu, but it said what I wanted along with many other dishes were out of stock. When calling the first time I asked if it was out of stock. She said no and so I asked if I could call back, she said sure. After deciding what I wanted I called back, no answer. I wanted this sandwich and I knew they weren’t closing for another hour. I live in Spruce Grove and drove 5 hours for this meal I wasn’t going to back down. I called 28 times before I could get someone to pick up the phone. When she answered I asked why no one was picking up. Because in the first call she answered immediately. She responded and said she couldn’t make it to the phone. It took her almost 40 minutes to answer the phone. I knew what she was doing, she just didn’t want to make my sandwich. I ordered my food and when I got there she was very hostile and rude. You could tell she was visibly upset. I don’t understand why. It wasn’t a hard sandwich to make, nor did it take a lot of dishes. The women who rung me up ( and who I assume made my sandwich). Had a medium cut and was put up in a ponytail. Her hair was brown and she was on the heavier side. She looked like a soccer Mom. I honestly hope this doesn’t happen again because like I said I drove really far. After paying she still was hostile and looked me up and down. Really bad experience!! Wouldn’t recommend ordering any food because that’s just too hard for them. You don’t want to dirty any...
Read moreWe stopped in here while driving across the country (moving home from ON to BC) and thought we had struck gold at this café based on the Google reviews. Unfortunately the experience left a little bit to be desired.
While the coffee was phenomenal and the sandwiches delicious (if a little on the dry side), we had the uncomfortable experience, while waiting 20+ minutes for our own sandwiches, of sitting through a customer asking for a refund because it was taking so long to prepare her food that she was going to miss a meeting, and witnessing other prospective customers come in, look around, and leave when they saw how many people were waiting for their meals. The kicker at the end was when my wife asked if the staff could refill her water bottle and the server laughed a little bit and said, “I don’t think I really want to touch that,” before turning away and working on other tasks. No big deal - I get it - we live in a COVID world and everyone wants to stay safe but the least you could do is offer a glass of water or some other alternative. Not to mention that presumably, you touch everyone’s dirty dishes to wash them before washing your own hands and returning to food preparation tasks. My wife and I love community-minded small businesses and hate to leave a poor review but sometimes leaving feedback is important.
