Bokeh on the Plaza — Restaurant in Saskatoon

To say this place was underwhelming would be an overstatement.

I was here last week in the evening. We sat down, the server delivered our drinks and asked if we needed more time with the food menu and we did. Fast forward 30(!) minutes, and I had to get up and go find them to order our food.

I’d be forgiving if it was busy, but there was literally only three other tables with people in the establishment, and the entire time we’re waiting at our table, we can hear the staff talking amongst each other. Heard one of them drop a F-bomb too, so that was nice. We were in there for like 45 minutes before somebody even came by to clear the table near us from the previous guests who we never even saw.

We ordered the lamb meatballs as a starter. Found them to be quite bland. My girlfriend had the tuna steak (lacking some flavour) and I had the Korean pork. We should have taken pictures. It was honestly a joke. The portion on my main was so small, it might as well have been an appetizer and it looked absolutely nothing like the photos of their food presently online. A small cup of rice, three pieces of sliced mushroom and two unseasoned pieces of steamed broccoli with the pork. Pretty bland dish and there was literally more empty space on my plate than there was food.

Honestly, the only redeeming thing about our dining experience was the bartender, as the drinks weren’t terrible. And it’s a nice looking place too. Otherwise, the food was bad and the service was awful. Waste of money. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, and with an experience like that, I’m surprised to see it’s been open as...

Huge disappointment — not worth your time or money. We ate here only because it was the restaurant at the hotel we were staying in, but we seriously regret it. The food was well below mediocre—tasted like something straight out of a box and microwaved. It was cold, flavorless, and way overpriced for the quality.

The service was just as bad. Our server was not welcoming at all and made us feel like we didn’t belong there. Definitely not the kind of hospitality you’d expect, especially while traveling.

Also, do not expect this to be a family-friendly place. If you’re thinking of coming with kids—especially toddlers—don’t bother. They don’t allow toddlers in the restaurant and don’t even have basic things like a high chair. Total letdown for families.

So yeah… save your money, save your time, and honestly, save your dignity—go...

I stay at this hotel quite a bit for work so I usually eat here too. I was determined to like this restaurant because of the wonderful staff and atmosphere so I think I have tried pretty much everything on the menu even though I leave disappointed every time. I would come again for a drink but I think I am done with the food. Everything is just okay. But the prices are reasonable so you sort of pay for what you get. The pasta is flavorless, the salads are a strange mix of flavors, the tuna steak is under seasoned, the avocado is very strange.
