I placed an order through Skip the Dishes, as it was the only late-night open restaurant apart from pizza diners and burger joints. I was indecisive of what to choose off the menu, but I decided to venture towards a Mexican cuisine and ended up ordering the taco bowl. The meal consisted of rice, beans, your choice of meat, salsa, coleslaw, cherry tomatoes, corn, and avocado. I was expecting the ingredients to arrive within an edible taco bowl. Instead, to my surprise, the meal was comprised of a thick layer of rice inside of a take-out container, topped with the salad ingredients mentioned above, with a few crunchy tortilla chips on the side. Read moreI rate this restaurant a solid 3/5 stars. The service at this establishment is sub par at best. I have been here twice and both times have been left waiting long periods of time for a server to bring food/drinks. The servers have an act for making you feel forgotten. The second time I went my experience was a bit better because of the server. Much of the menu I find to be basic and underwhelming. However, their nachos are amazing and a must order if you find yourself here. The chips are nicely seasoned, it was a fairly large portion and instead of grated cheese it was queso.. which was chefs kiss. The prices are fairly high for underwhelming food and average service. This restaurant is located in a prime location in the heart of downtown Saskatoon and attracts a lot of people and in my opinion, should be held to a...
Read moreToday we wanted to enjoy an afternoon in the sun so we decided to check out Cathedral Social Hall. Nice location, inviting atmosphere and clean patio. The service we experienced was another story...
The server was friendly and seated us promptly on the patio. We were brought our waters quickly and ordered our first beer within the first 10 minutes. After we had our first beer brought to use the service stopped. We waited close to half an hour without being asked if we wanted to order any food or more drinks. We grew frustrated watching the waitress and waiter help other customers. Needless to say we paid our tab and headed over to Congress Beer House.
Extremely disappointed with the experience we had here. The restaurant was not busy because of the spotty weather and the patio was only at half capacity...
