Make no mistake, despite being a beer house, every aspect of the food has as much great thought and passion put into it as the drinks. Congress is a warm, open environment, arguably slightly under-lit, but a great place to go, none the less. The cocktails are very well made and although may not be the most appealing to those who are into newer cocktails, many fans of classics such as the Negroni, Whiskey Sour, etc. Will have their drinks made with excellent quality. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they make their Whiskey Sours (which I highly recommend) with an egg white froth to top it, which gives it a great texture. The food is phenomenal, I can't rave about it enough. It is more expensive than what you would usually pay at some other local bars nearby, but each dish is made with high quality ingredients and great attention to flavour. Overall, when you're out trying to find either a great dining experience, or a nice place to have some great drinks and food, Congress is always a...

I recently had a rather disappointing dining experience at Congress Beer House. While I had heard good things about their food, the poor service left a lasting impression. Firstly, my initial beer arrived at our table warm. I found this surprising, as the name states “Beer House” and proper beverage temperature is a fundamental expectation. I decided to send it back and request a replacement which I waited 10 minutes for and arrived no cooler that the first one. Then we waited a whopping 45 minutes for our Pizza. While the food was decent when it finally arrived, the subpar service and issues with the beer really marred the experience. I believe that a dining experience is about more than just the food, it’s also about the overall ambiance and customer service. Unfortunately, in the regard, CHB fell short during my visit. I hope they can address these issues to provide a better experience for their patrons...

We have been to Congress a few times, but this time was the most disappointing. We arrived well before the concert rush and had terrible service from the moment we sat down. It took half an hour to get our first drinks, when there were only 8 tables in the entire restaurant. Ordered queso as an appetizer, which the server forgot about and it came out ice cold. We had to pull her over to order our main meals and second drinks as she wasn't checking in on us and made us feel like a pain for asking. Our beer arrived and it was like the keg had gone bad.. Once again, she wasn't checking on us so we had to take it up to the bar to get resolved. Our food took 50 minutes to arrive. Then we were never checked on again until our meal was practically done because we had asked for the bill. Our server had zero urgency and wasn't even trying to apologize for the...

Passing through saskatoon and used google review to choose a place to eat. So glad I did!!! Love the atmosphere, very nice place could come here dressed up for a night on the town but could also fit in in comfy casual wear. I came with my husband and was looking for a quieter place and they sat us in the front area which is seperated a bit so it blocks out some of the noise, it is quite noisy on the main area. Lots of beer on tap to choose from and ice cold. Food was incredible. We got the Nachos and the Baked brie, they where both hands down the best appies I've ever had. The flavors the presentation, all on point. There's a reason this place has such great reviews. Staff and service also great. Highly recommend.

We had another great dinner at Congress Beer House and it did not disappoint, as always! I ordered the Smoked Brisket Sandy and the Fish & Chips, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The brisket sandwich was packed with flavor, tender, and perfectly paired with their crispy fries topped with cheese and herbs. The fish was golden, flaky, and cooked just right, with a side of tartar sauce that complemented it perfectly. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and made with care. Congress Beer House consistently delivers both in quality and atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a hearty meal and a cozy evening out. Definitely one of my go-to places in the city!

Update 12/23. Things have changed... Again. New menu. Less food options, many old favorites missing. The food specials on Sundays don't start until 4pm now?? And they never did bring back the Cesar Sunday drink special either. Meals are smaller, less care going into the food. Even dare I say using cheaper dishware!! Going here for a burger? You'll pay Congress premium price for their Ace Burger with 16 fries. We used to go here almost every Sunday for lunch since 2015. Today might have been our last visit. Staff is still so nice though. Still tasted good but we feel ripped off. Sorry Congress. Lost a couple stars from us.
