EDITED UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: Your responses to low reviews is consistent with the ability you lack to handle criticism. Your lack of professionalism and level of immaturity when faced with a negative review of what YOU call "homemade" food is highly evident. Looking back on my review history will show and prove how appreciative I am of small businesses and the effort they put into their service and food, if warranted. I go to a lot of places, again as shown in my review history, that serve actual homecooked, flavorful, low cost and non greasy food. Your ego failed to look at my past reviews and just pre-judge instead to defend your establishment in the most ignorant way I've ever seen a business do. Oh and almost $20 for 12 wings is an insane level of price gouging. 244 Pizza and Wings in Toronto sells 15 wings for almost $9. SAUCED AND TOSSED!! Proof is in my newest posted pictures to this edited update. So, yeah, your prices are absurd. The service that I rated a 1 was because there is NO SERVICE TO SPEAK OF!! You order at the front, you pick up your own food at the front and you then take it to your own table. I was supposed to rate THAT a 5 according to you? Smh I also can't believe that "Cutlery is a bonus" at a RESTAURANT was even a thing. Next time, you should post BYOCutlery so people know that after serving themselves, they'll be prepared with their own cutlery. I hope your attitude shows others that you don't deserve their business. It's a wonder how you even managed to get this far in life with the overpriced garbage you sell yet take so much pride in. With the amount of money you save by hiring a single cashier to punch in a couple of buttons on the register and then look at her phone, you'd think you would be able to keep your prices reasonable. Smh ORIGINAL REVIEW: Maybe we went on an off day for them or maybe we should've just stuck to trying their so called famous pizza but the food we ended up ordering just wasn't it. Nothing special about it and mostly bland. Ordered the chicken Cesar salad (in a BOX) with what looked like processed chicken bites of some sort. The dressing didn't taste like Cesar, either. The wings were not tossed in the sauce and so were flavorless and dry. One thing I can't stand is when you order wings from a pizza place, you expect them to be pre-tossed in the sauce already. Businesses, like this one, try to save money any which way they can by giving you the small Dixie cup sauce on the side for you to dip 2 wings in and done. Cheap and shameful. The fries were good but just fries. The chicken schnitzel was flavorless and saltless. I didn't mind it when I combined it with the fried onions and mushrooms but wouldn't recommend it either way. I felt like this place was more of a Sauble money trap but the reviews reeled me in, unfortunately, and I paid a hefty price for it. Still curious about their pizza but not enough to risk throwing more money out the window for it. To the people with the reviews claiming THIS being the "best" pizza they've ever tried and blah blah...
Read moreThis is hands down the best pizza in the Bruce, and firmly in my top five anywhere. I’m a devoted pizza tourist who plans entire trips around finding the best pies, and this spot delivers across the board. The crust is light and airy inside, perfectly crisp outside, with the deep, complex flavour that only comes from proper cold fermentation. It’s clear someone here knows what they’re doing.
I’ve tried everything on the menu, and not a single thing disappoints. That’s rare when the pizza sets the bar this high. The poutine is fantastic—hand-cut fries, golden and crispy, generously piled with fresh, squeaky cheese curds that actually melt the way they’re supposed to, all smothered in rich, house-made gravy. The burgers are just as good: thick, juicy patties with fresh toppings, and built properly with condiments on the bottom so every bite hits right.
They also carry an excellent rotating selection of craft beer, with something for every palate. My current favourite is the lemon ginger wheat ale—refreshing, bright, and the perfect match for a sunny patio afternoon. It’s clear they put the same care into their drink menu as they do their food.
The sunny patio invites you to linger, and the owners and staff are even warmer. They strike that perfect balance of relaxed and attentive, creating a space that feels both professional and personal. More than just a local favourite, this place is worth going out of...
Read moreI used to live in New York City, and Lazslo’s Bistro in Sauble Beach genuinely holds its own when it comes to great food.
I’ve eaten at some excellent restaurants in NYC, so I wasn’t expecting to find anything quite at that level in a small beach town. But Lazslo’s surprised me — and now it’s become a regular part of my routine. I’ve actually eaten here multiple times in a single day, and each time has been worth it.
The chicken schnitzel on a bun is my personal favourite — crispy, juicy, and packed with flavour. The fettuccini Alfredo with chicken is creamy and comforting without being heavy, and the chicken pesto wrap is fresh, filling, and always satisfying. Even the pizza here is as good as any I’ve had in New York — perfectly done, with a crisp base and just the right balance of sauce and cheese. Everything I’ve tried has been consistent, well-made, and clearly prepared with care.
The service is genuinely friendly and thoughtful. No frills, no pretense — just good people serving great food and treating customers well. That alone is worth five stars.
If you’re in Sauble Beach, Lazslo’s is the kind of spot you keep coming back to. I...
