Pizza Delight — Restaurant in South Bruce Peninsula

A little pricey for a pizza joint but with Sauble being slightly secluded from bigger towns I can see how it's justified. Now that I have my one criticism out of the way let me praise their product. Their dough is reminiscent of pizza hut despite it not being pan pizza. It's fluffy and crunchy. Secondly their sauce is unique in that I haven't had anything similar to it at any other pizza place. It has a sweetness to it that is just perfect. It's not an overpowering level of sweetness, just subtle enough to notice it and think to yourself "Wow, that's good!" If you're looking at being a little more adventurous I can't recommend their Donair enough. The original donair is made with with pizza crust, Donair meat, lettuce, onions, and Donair sauce. You fold it up like a big sandwich and dive in. But it you really want a treat get yourself the Super Donair. All the great ingredients of this Atlantic original dish but with melted cheese and pepperoni to boot! For $14 all in, it'll fill you up, you'll get to try a dish from the east coast, and you'll be wondering why you hadn't heard of...

Usually order Pizza Delight at least once during our annual week-long trip to Sauble. I have had great memories of the pizza from here in the past.

As always, staff are super friendly and courteous. No issues placing my order despite having to call in vs ordering online. I am assuming the online order feature is not enabled at this restaurant for reasons but it is inconvenient to not be able to order online. Also, the online menu viewing didn’t work for this location so I had to go to the Port Elgin website to check out the menu before calling.

Unfortunately, either my memory is poor or the food quality has changed but the pizza and wings were not the same as I had recalled. Pizza tasted ok at best but wasn’t comparable to the quality of the food I’ve purchased from here in past years. The wings were cooked through but could have used some more time in the deep frier / oven as the fat hadn’t been fully rendered and the skin was more chewy than crispy.

For a super busy location, not a bad choice if you need...

This was the only restaurant that was open at 8 30pm on a Saturday evening after enjoying the beautiful sunset at the beach. It is a takeout only place. I could see that they were extremely busy with continuous orders taken. We were a group of extremely hungry 5 adults and 1 child. We ordered a 21" square pizza and Large (15" ) garlic cheese fingers. They did inform that it would take about 20-25 minutes and we got our food in about 30 minutes. The portion size was more than enough to feed us all to full stomach and we even had few pieces remaining from both to take home. The taste was absolutely delicious. You could just feel the freshness of the ingredients used and baked to perfection. The total bill was $56-57. Big shout out and huge respect to all the staff for their warm smiles and hard work despite being so busy taking orders and cooking in the kitchen. I would totally recommend this place and will return here when I visit...
