We came for wing night and line dancing. Though we decided not to stay after dinner (change of plans, not anything due to the restaurant). My daughter and I ordered 2lbs of wings, honey garlic & bbq. All sauces are made on site. They were good although both had a medium/strong smell and flavour of curry. Not our favourite spice, other people might enjoy it. My other daughter ordered a burger and fries, both of which were amazing. The beef was nice and flavourful and can tell it’s a handmade patty and not frozen. We didn’t order anything spectacular for drinks and they were refilled quickly as our server was attentive (can’t remember her name). All staff seem to help each other out with their tables and bringing orders so food is served hot and they all seemed friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are very dirty, low lit and smell so bad, you can smell them long before you get to them. It’s disconcerting to think the kitchen is on the other side of them. This is ultimately what brings down the number of *’s. The woman’s bathroom only had 1 working stall, one was clogged and one stall had a locked door, presumably for the same reason. Over 90 mins, it was clear no one checks or cleans the bathrooms as they stayed dirty and messy. The stench is really what’s off putting to return here.

Update Returned last night for live music. So glad we made reservations, had a fabulous table close to the stage. Band was fantastic !! Staff as always were friendly and fast. Place was packed atmosphere was perfect . You would have never known there was a winter storm outside . serving size of nachos was perfect to serve 4 + . Wings and poutine also need to be honourably mentioned “yummy “ only disappointment was no batter mushrooms ( sad ) We will definitely be returning. The Dunes is a must visit place when visiting Sauble Beach ! This the first time here for us. We sat on the patio in the warm September sun very nice large patio real beach feel to it. It was mid afternoon so we had a couple beers and a couple apps. The beer on tap was ice cold and in a glass not a plastic cup awesome. The battered mushrooms were deliciously crispy outside and tasty mushroomy inside. Also had the butter milk chicken nibs, very nice, the butter milk batter was very nice and crispy the chicken you could tell was hand cut and very fresh. Awesome, awesome! The wait staff very, very friendly.

Neat beach bar/restaurant! We stopped here on. Thursday evening and were sat outside on picnic tables for our meal. About 15 min after we sat down, the place was PACKED with line dancers.. it was definitely full of energy!! Our server was good, as was the food. Had fish & chips, thick beer batter, nice and crispy. I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw personally. Hubby had wings and Caesar salad, salad was good, wings seemed under cooked. Son had the Buffalo chicken Mac & Cheese which is served in a skillet, it was hot right til the last bite. The cheese sauce was a little plain but the spicy chicken balanced it.. I would have preferred a bit more creamy cheese texture. Our friend had a clubhouse and salad and it was huge! All in all, not bad. It was super HOT 🥵 sitting outside and we'd been on motorcycles all day so we were looking for a cool meal in AC comfort. I should have asked! If you're looking for a place to kick up your heels, I'd think this was it! 🍻

I called a few days ahead to make a reservation for my son's hockey team and when my voicemail wasn't returned, I should have taken that as a sign. First they got the time wrong when we were to arrive and we had to wait. Getting drinks was a fight while we waiting and when we finally sat orders weren't taken very promptly, waitress seemed spacey and it took us 3 times to explain how using players jersey numbers would be a great way to keep all the bills organized. I was the first to sit down at 8pm, my table out of the four tables was the first to order. Not only did the others order after us, but they got their food, ate and some had started cashing out and leaving, and we had yet to see our food. The 'all you can eat' would be great if you actually got any food to start with. We asked numerous of times on about our food, the waitress was very defensive, didn't come and refill our drinks, was non apologetic and continued to make excuses about being short staffed and saying 'this is all we can do'. The owner came over and apologized but continued to give excuses and did not offer any compensation, I had to ask them what they were going to do to make it better and yet there was no answer. My family of 4 got their meals at 9:49pm at night, by this time, 3/4 of our team had left, by the time I got my bill, everyone, including my family who was in the car waiting, were gone. The menu was extremely limited, highly overpriced, $6 for an add on salad with a sandwich, and saying it was mediocre would be a huge stretch. Although we weren't local, I would hate to have anyone have the experience we had and waste their money at a place that really didn't seem to care to take care of their customers. I am not sure if it was because we weren't local they didn't care or they were just over their heads but regardless, it was an extremely disappointing experience, the joke of the weekend and I would not recommend wasting your time or money at this...

went back today after 10 months. this time the food was better and the service was ok. much better experience than my last visits, but could still use some improvements. I had fish and chips; fish was a bit oily, fries were a bit soft, wife asked for salad dressing on the side and they gave her a half of a little plastic cup, so we asked for more and got another half little plastic cup. She said the goat cheese salad was good.

I never had a good experience here and tried multiple times over the past 5 years. Figured I would give them another chance since I haven't been here in over 2 years and since then this place had had new management.

Went on a Monday around 5 pm for dinner. place was pretty well dead and 3 waitresses were huddled around the point of sale terminal. After about 10 minutes and watching people queue up behind me, I gave up and left. Funny thing, a few other people exited when they saw me leave.

Tried again on Tuesday for lunch. this time there was only one waitress. I overheard her apologizing multiple times to the patrons about the delays and general service. I decided to stay anyways since a bunch of people were finished their meals and leaving.

ordered pull pork sandwich and the sandwich was mostly fat and grizzle and the fries were cold.

Can't say i didn't give them a chance... again.

this was HORRIBLE. ZERO STARS for me. went there for my birthday dinner and immediately as we walked in there was no customer service. they told us to find a seat and they will come with a menu. our table was sticky and wet when we first got there, and when the (very rude) younger lady finally came to give us our menus, we asked if there was a bar menu we could look at, to which she very rudely replied saying they do not have one. (which is fine, but she was very rude about it). we decided to order drinks and when my friend ordered a beer asking what they had on tap, she explained that they barely had anything left, and we asked if they had a desert menu, she rudely told us they did not have that either. we ordered food and waited about 2 minutes before she came to give us our drinks, and literally SPILLED one of them, on purpose, and walked away without apologizing, offering napkins or to clean it up. at this point we all decided that she was being so rude to the point where we cancelled our food order and decided to go find somewhere else to eat for dinner. we were extremely surprised to see how rude our waiter was, and it seemed like this place had no idea what they were doing AT ALL. mind you, it wasn’t even busy at all when we went here, can’t imagine how they would be during a late...
