Bought a hot dog across the street with my family, wanted to get an iced coffee to go with it and went to sit down first and grab a table. The owner or whomever works there instantly screamed at us to go away. Guessing they made the assumption we were going to use the table to eat at but little did they know, we planned to buy drinks from them. Maybe you shouldn’t be so quick to judge, as you made us feel extremely unwelcome. Now you didn’t only lose 3 customers and a decent sale (or multiple) but also gained a one star review.
Additional reply to owner:
No, we were not the 3 people eating at your tables as we never had a chance to sit down before being yelled at. We were actually a group of 4 people, as we have a baby. As a business owner myself, I think it's a worse "look" to yell at potential customers than it is to be nice to them. As long as the customer is enjoying drinks or something else from your establishment which is labeled as a cafe (typically which has a focus on serving drinks), I don't think it would be strange to allow them to sit at an outdoor table with their purchases and eat their food too. It's Sauble Beach. In a casual beach environment, it's normal that customers might be carrying around food and snacks from different places. While this may not be appropriate indoors, or at more formal dining establishments, I would think at a place like Sauble, eating outdoors, it would be a normal and nice thing to do to be welcoming as long as the customer is getting something from your business. Maybe different also, if your tables were full, but all of your tables were empty. Regardless, you lost a customer and lost a sale, so you be the judge I guess, if that's how you want...
Read moreWe visited this place on lasf Saturday afternoon after seeing the reviews and were really happy to have found a place on the patio to sit, the cafe was nice and decorated, they had variety of options for non-veg and vegitarian foods and alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. When the food arrived, all hot and with condiments etc, and the service was quick, we got really happy. We ordered quesadillas (bean and chicken) and a ceasar wrap, we were really disappointed by the taste. It actually has no salt, no taste to it, we could just taste the wrap/ bread and cheese. We also ordered mango lassi, which was ok, but we were expecting them to use real mangoes (atleast now when it's the mango season) and they used syrup instead. Maybe they would have used the real mangoes, but to us it really tasted.like it was mango flavored syrup. All in all, bad experience. Never went there again. Also, the food wasn't cheap, it was priced on the higher side and that raised our expectations. I hope they improve on their dishes after...
Read moreFood ok Rude owners Been coming to Sauble beqch for 15 years and always come to Two Chicks for breakfast or lunch. Since new owners noticed a decrease in food quality and service. Will not come back here again and will not recommend. We ordered Sunrise salad. Online and on the menu it does not say the dressing. It is a raspberry vinegrette, my daughter has severe raspberry allergy. When I told them this they answered me, with attitude, that nothing they could do, and we should have asked. When I asked if we could switch out the salad. They replied not unless you pay and we will just throw it out. We had not opened it or touched it at all we could just see by the color of the dressing that it might be questionable. So, before opening it we asked. Just rude...
