Channing Restaurant — Restaurant in South Bruce Peninsula

Went to sauble beach today.. I found the Channing restaurant by googling Chinese restaurants. It was located right at the beach front where all the other restaurants are. It had a side window to order take out we couldn't eat on the patio unless you were ordering alcohol , which i was very disappointed especially after spending $40plus. We had to eat in the car instead of being able to eat properly and watch the sunset. Travelled three hours to visit this area. The food was ok not great and not bad. It was very basic. The fried rice had the taste but was just plain no veggies no nothing just rice with soy sauce. The chow mein mostly bean sprouts with a few slivers of carrots, chicken balls as usual.. Plain with just the sweet sauce, seasme chicken plain with little Sweetness and seeds. I would suggest the restaurant to add a little more ingredients to better the food and price quality. I would recommend this restaurant if your looking for Chinese food and ok with just basic food and not looking for...

I used to work here way back in the day when they first opened. Since eating here, I have (still) not been able to find Chinese food that is as good. My personal favourites are the Lemon Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Honey Garlic Wontons, Tofu with Black Bean Sauce and Vegetable Lo Mein. Their food is made in house, their sauces are amazing, and the food isn't super greasy. Just be warned that during the summer season they are EXTREMELY busy for both order in and take out, especially long weekends. And they are unfortunately not open in the winter. I try and order every time I am "up North"...

This is honestly some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. We were originally going to order from a place in Wiarton but instead decided on Channing's after reading some reviews. Well, the reviews were correct. The pricing was fair and the food was extremely fresh and tasty. We had a dinner for 4A and added some additional sides. We will definitely be ordering from Channing's again.

The only issue I saw was that there was a leaking air conditioning line in the dining room that seemed to be causing an issue for some dine-in customers. Hopefully...
