I recently had the pleasure of dining at the 1858 Caesar Bar, and my experience was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the outstanding service provided by the incredible waitress, Emily! Her warm and welcoming demeanor instantly made me feel at home, and her attention to detail and professionalism throughout the evening were truly exceptional.

Waited in line for 15 minutes. We could see 3 or 4 open tables, but no one was being sat at them. Then a group left, and still no one was being sat. Looking out, it seemed no one had received their food (unless everyone had only ordered drinks) which didn't inspire confidence, but we still waited. There's a QR code at the front of the place to scan to see the menu, but Sauble has shifty reception, so we couldn't actually see the menu until we sat down and were handed one. Eventually we were sat at a low table with high tables directly beside us, and immediately ice cubes started falling on us from people sitting on the stools above. I guess they didn't see there was a seated table below them, and they just picked ice out of their drinks and swiped the ice off their table (and directly on to us). Rude. We still tried to be positive and looked over the menu. Lot of meat options. Hardly any seafood, which feels so odd for a beach town. Tried to order two vegetarian-friendly things that were apparently both out. (I think one was guacamole?) Then I explained to the waiter I don't eat meat and he recommended the dill fries, which honestly are kind of yucky. The meat eaters get full meal options, the vegetarians get sides... if they get anything at all. I think there was only one food option on the menu that I saw that was vegan-suitable. Really uncomfortable, and waited too long only to...

Honestly expected a lot more from this place seeing all the positive reviews. Got sat promptly and was given water and when our server came around they were out of half the things on the food menu! I get it but its also mid-summer, I feel like you should be stocked on everything (including fries when that's a quarter of the menu). We got tacos and they were out of the shrimp so we tried the other two flavours and they were good. Also got wings and they were a good flavour but barely any meat on them!

Now what I had a big issue with, our food came out all at separate times... two people got their meals first, then one other person, and then 10 - 15 mins later someone else got their food. Felt so odd the timing being so atrocious. We were debating just canceling the last order because we were all sitting there waiting for it. Two servers came over too and saw we were still missing food and didnt acknowledge it or anything?? Also took forever to get our bills, it wasn't busy either the girls were standing at the bar talking, we wondered if we needed to go up and pay but they finished their conversation and finally gave us the bills.

Overall, Caesars and location were great! Service and food were really lacking. Decided to try somewhere new being up at the cottage but not...
