A&W Canada — Restaurant in Surrey

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience at GTC’s A&W was so frustrating I feel like I have to share. I ordered a simple burger with extra pickles, no mayo, and no tomato—nothing complicated. Unfortunately, they messed it up not once, not twice, but three times.

The first time, they added both mayo and tomato—exactly what I asked them not to. Fine, I thought, I'll give them another chance. So I went back, double-checked my order, and made sure the instructions were clear. The second time, they still added mayo but no tomato. By this point, I was pretty annoyed, but I figured maybe third time’s the charm.

When I went up for the third time, the girl behind the counter offered to remake the burger, so I gave it one last shot. But surprise, surprise—this time they gave me a burger with mayo, a single pickle, and tomato again with a bad piece of lettuce.

At that point, I was so frustrated I just asked for a refund. I’m honestly baffled by how hard it was for them to follow simple instructions. It's not a complicated order, and I even double-checked it the second time. It was just a mess from start to finish.

Here’s the kicker: what made everything worse was the attitude I got from the girl behind the counter. Instead of focusing on my order, she was chatting with her colleagues about ILETS exams and texting on her phone. If she had been paying attention to her job instead of gossiping, none of this would have happened. The audacity she had to give me attitude when I was still polite and patient throughout this whole ordeal is just beyond me. It's completely unprofessional.

Honestly, this is a big reason why some people get frustrated with the service at places like this. It's not about being discriminatory, but when you’re distracted and clearly not putting effort into your work, things fall apart.

I won’t be coming back, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this...

Me and my sister went for the lunch.. and cashier named Samridhi was so rude,we ordered bunch of things with two coffees and I was trying to confirm the order that if we ordered right thing, but the cashier got triggered that doesn’t make any sense bcuz if we are ordering and paying then there is no chance of ignoring the customers even though we were so polite. She should know more about the customer service as I do work in the same field so I know how to deal with it but she has zero knowledge as well as there were two more customers who said that she should change...

A&W is by far the best Canadian fast food joint there is to offer where you're up for quick veggie comfort fast food at reasonable fare! I dig A&W, even as a veggie, their beyond meat burger is pretty yummy and not oily or soggy like other fast food chains. They should 100% invest into getting some hot sauce on their menu to add to their burgers as this was really missing. Apart from this and the fact some of the fries were not thoroughly cooked, a pretty awesome chow down. I could slurp their root beer all day...
