We came to get coffee and food for breakfast as a group of 6. The experience left a sour taste in our mouths because one female worker was giving us attitude. One of my friends had ordered a coffee + specific type of croissant. When he ordered, the worker did not specify it would take some time to be heated up. He ordered first but all of us got our drinks and food even though we ordered after him but he did not get his croissant yet. We were friendly and just asked out of curiousity / reminder that he didn’t get the croissant yet. One female worker was nice and apologized as she thought she didn’t give him the croissant and sold out of that specific type to other customers already. Then the other female worker at the back made a face and basically threw the croissant on the table to us without saying a word. We weren’t making a scene so that was totally unnecessary. It felt like she was annoyed because we were chinese or “tourists” as she thought? We’re also Canadian born from Vancouver and just visiting Vancouver island for the weekend. We’ve had so much poor experience in Tofino/Ucluelet where people weren’t friendly. Maybe 3 times in the 2.5 days we were there. And ultimately, that gave us a bad impression...
Read moreI only give this 2 stars because the americano tasted ok. When we walked in the staff barely acknowledged us. They were having a great convo with each other but she said hi out of having to say it. We had ordered coffee which she quickly responded they didnt have any.... At a bean roasting company? If she just didnt have any made she could have said " if youd like to wait i can make some" but she said " i can only make you an americano. The staff only seemed to talk about their night out. They seemed to only be friendly with locals. For the prices you charge, be friendly with everybody. At one point there were e people behind the counter and nobody made coffee. If you go to tofino... Go to rhino, friendlier faster and they...
Read moreTofino is better for having this sweet little coffee shop and roaster. We’ve been a number of times on our trip now, and are impressed every time. Espresso drinks are expertly made, impressive barista work for a small town and shows dedication to craft. Brewed coffee is a great value proposition. All fairly priced. And the pastries- I could understand an argument that says $5.50 is too much for a chocolate croissant but when the croissant is as good as these- I’ll pay the price. Staff were friendly and remembered us on our return trips. Could benefit from in store seating and the option of drinking your coffee out of a ceramic mug. Overall, we love you Tofino...
