I recently had the pleasure of dining at Awesome Tteokbokki and Kimbap, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the meal ahead.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the tteokbokki. The rice cakes were cooked to perfection—chewy and satisfying, with a sauce that struck a perfect balance between sweet and spicy. Each bite was packed with flavor, making it clear that the dish was crafted with care and attention to detail.
Equally impressive was the kimbap. The rolls were fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. The combination of ingredients was spot-on, and the rolls were beautifully presented. It’s clear that quality ingredients and skillful preparation are priorities at this restaurant.
In addition to the fantastic food, the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were eager to offer recommendations and ensure that everything was to our satisfaction.
The ambiance of Awesome Tteokbokki and Kimbap is another reason to visit. The cozy, casual setting is perfect for a relaxed meal, whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a solo dining experience.
Overall, Awesome Tteokbokki and Kimbap exceeded all expectations. It’s a gem for anyone looking for authentic Korean comfort food with a personal touch. I highly recommend it and can’t...
Read moreWhen we entered the store we didn’t see any staff at the front and we just sat ourselves down.
This is a small spot which seats about 8 people (4 tables).
Just an fyi it does take some time to get the food ready. The server let us know ahead of time.
We ordered combo c which includes tteokbokki, assorted fried sides, kimbap/rice bowl and 2 drinks.
For tteokbokki we got the rose with spice level 2. It was a bit spicy for me and I heard customer at the other table said spice level 1 is spicy already. We added wide noodles as well as cheese for an extra cost. The wide noodles and the rice cake is a bit under cooked in my opinion.
The assorted fried sides includes fried seaweed, fish cake, dumplings and a hash brown. It was just okay in my opinion, it tastes good if you dip it in the tteokbokki sauce though.
The kimbap we got the bibimbap kimbap and it was slightly spicy. It’s pretty filling!
Overall, the food was just okay. The washroom is quite big and accessible, it’s kinda like the size of half the store.
The service could be better in my opinion. Majority of the time the staff was at the back and we would have to just wait for them to randomly come out. I also saw a couple of customer come in and left very soon as there was no...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant to pick up an order, and my experience was far from satisfactory. After placing our order at the kiosk, we faced an unexpectedly long wait of 30 to 40 minutes. It was frustrating to see customers who ordered after us receiving their food before us. Meanwhile, those who ordered before us were equally distressed, worrying about being late for their plans.
When I brought this to the staff's attention, they attributed the delay to frying the chicken. However, I find it hard to believe that frying chicken takes 30-40 minutes. To make matters worse, their attitude lacked concern for the inconvenience they caused. It felt as though they didn't care about how long their customers were waiting or the potential impact of the delay. The fact that I could hear laughing and chatting from the kitchen only added to my disappointment.
I’ve ordered from this place multiple times in the past, but after this experience, I doubt I’ll return. While I understand that busy times can lead to delays, the staff's indifferent attitude toward their customers left a lasting negative impression. This was not an...
