OMG, where has this hidden gem been all these years in Canada? We loved, loved, LOVED this place. It's easily one of our top 3 favorite spots in Toronto right now.
Finding truly good food in Toronto can be tough, not gonna lie. So when we decided to try this Chinese BBQ spot, we were just hoping for the best, and it did not disappoint. Like, at all.
This place is seriously a hidden treasure, and honestly, I don't even want too many people to find out about it because we want to get a seat every time we go back!
The staff are super friendly. No reservation is needed. You just walk in, and they’ll seat you. If a better table becomes available before you order, they’ll even offer to move you, which we thought was such a nice touch.
Every table has a QR code, so you just scan it to browse the menu and order whatever you want. You can even keep adding more items later if you're still hungry, and your food starts coming out pretty quickly.
Portions are big, so don’t go overboard unless you're ready to take some home, which they’ll happily pack up for you free of charge.
Now let’s talk food. The skewers were amazing, and the shrimp & egg fried rice was absolutely to die for. My boyfriend doesn’t even like shrimp, and he finished the whole bowl and then asked for more! We also had the beef stir-fry, which was so flavorful. Honestly, everything we ordered was delicious even the Chinese orange can drink. That was the first thing we tried, and we just knew it was about to be a good experience.
Boyfriend's rating: 100/10. Mine, too. It was that good. We were the only Black people there, but it didn’t matter at all. We felt comfortable and welcome. This place was fantastic, and we’re already planning to go back next time...
Read moreUpdate: wanted to order some via ubereats but I noticed that the sweet and sour pork is not there 😔
First time trying Chinese style skewers and this didnt disappoint. The grilled meats were so tasty and moist. My personal fave is the sweet and sour pork, this reminds me of tangsuyuk but 10x better. I love how its crispy and the sauce was really delish! The Fried Rice was good, i totally forgot from the name that they used the chili oil we have at home until I ate it. Might have to try and replicate this fried rice at home. lasty, the Golden Fried Buns, which my fiance calls his fave chinese dish.. soo moist, soo soft and it was the perfect temperature. The place was packed when we got there and our server did the best he can to attend to us. I was gonna take out 1 star on this but it was understandable, we came here for dinner during the mid-autum festival.. Overall, would recommend and will...
Read moreFirst time dining here and this BBQ House has good vibes, luv the light fixtures, it's fun.
The food items are inspired by Northern Chinese food which focuses on spicy and herbs, although, you can select the level of spicy of your dish, but for those who luvs spicy food, you are in luck!
I luv spicy food, in particular, really like the spicy claypot with many skewers that included beef intestines, beef stomach.
The veggies are so nice, the tong ho was our favourite.
For those who can't eat spicy, they have steam garlic vermcelli scallops or oysters. Those oysters were super fresh and huge, it's our favourite.
You can also order non-spicy stir fry shrimp or beef noodles. The sweet and sour pork is also not your usual sweet & sour pork, it's crispy, and a different unique taste of flavours.
I would definitely come back especially it's so convenient located near Yonge Street...
