All Terrible! Zero host to receive or greet us, why? Is that standard Portuguese culture? Standing at the front for 30min despite many open tables inside. We saw the back patio had a line-up so we opted on inside dining. Finally a waitress told us we can choose from any three open tables. Exceptionally loud restaurant. We read menu while we were standing for 30 min, turns out that was not the correct menu…no…those prices were much cheaper than the real over-priced menu we received. Basic canned Dainty white rice with a few scraps of “Bairrada house style” over dry chicken scraps, potatoes, $16 wilted salad with one tomato slice and three cucumber slices. No bread! Warm sparkling water no ice. No tap water with ice, no opportunity to ask our “waitress” for ice or bread. Never ever bothered to inquire about our meal. We noticed other tables all had bread service. Noticed they were very busy and “waitress” claims she’s been working so hard from the other restaurant. So now I need to hear about her problems??? We are here for an experience…unfortunately this experience was horrible all around $100 wasted on crappy food and non-existent service at this dump! We couldn’t even access the washrooms down those dangerous narrow filthy stairs. Not to mention these guido-types I presume were buddies with the owners always loitering and going out to the front and then back in always passing our table and then “hanging” out on the sidewalk loud ethnic types. Never again! Food is not good, it’s insulting!
I forgot to mention the unhygienic gypsy man selling roses and harassing us. Apparently the owner/manager pats him on the back and then proceeds to help himself to a table and a free? meal and opens a cupboard for utensils at gets food right away all while resting his inventory of roses on another table where people are expected to eat on. I should have asked him for some bread! Bizarre people characters and dynamics this “restaurant” has, which destroys any positive dining experience you...
Read moreMy friends and I made the mistake of visiting Bairrada Churrasqueira on 1000 College. What a complete disaster. It was packed, sure, so we waited a few minutes for a table ‘not the end of the world. But once we were finally seated at a filthy table, we sat there like idiots for 10-15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When a waitress finally showed up, she didn’t say a word, just started wiping the table with a nasty, wet rag, spraying filth all over us like we weren’t even there. Disgusting. Then she disappeared for another 10 minutes before finally bothering to take our order. After that? Nothing. Just over an hour of waiting while our food sat in plain sight on the kitchen counter, getting cold. No one brought it over. No apologies. No updates. Just total chaos. We tried everything to get someone’s attention’ waving, calling out, even tossing an empty water bottle in their direction just to snap them out of whatever daze they were in. No one was hit, no harm done, but you'd expect some response, right? Nope. One of the staff picked up the bottle, placed it on a table like it was trash, and just kept chatting with her coworkers. They didn’t care. So many staff doing absolutely nothing while customers sat there being ignored. And the most pathetic part? We NEVER even got our food. After sitting there for over an hour being ignored, disrespected, and treated like we were invisible, we had enough and walked out. Not a single staff member said a word. No one asked why we were leaving. No apology, no explanation’ just blank stares and more useless standing around. What’s wild is that everything smelled great. We actually wanted to eat there. But apparently, basic service is too much to expect from a place crawling with staff who clearly don’t give a damn. It’s honestly laughable. How can a place with good food screw it up this badly? This was beyond bad! It was insulting. Never again. Don't waste your time or energy dining...
Read moreIt’s a relief to see more people finally speaking out about the terrible service at this restaurant. Since they won’t change the waitstaff, we’ll change the restaurant. #dontgoBairradaChurrascaria Unfortunately, the management seems to ignore ongoing complaints. If the owners are unwilling to improve the quality of customer service, then we, the customers, need to stop supporting this place and take our business elsewhere. I personally stopped going after several disappointing experiences — especially with a waitress named Daniele, who was consistently rude, more interested in her phone than serving customers, and even mocked guests who left smaller tips.
We tried to address the issue directly: we spoke twice with a young man who introduced himself as the owner's son, but nothing changed. On our last visit, we even met two other customers who were also there to complain about another waiter, Peter — someone we’ve had issues with in the past due to his aggressive behavior. Shockingly, he was still working that day, and no manager was present to handle the situation. What’s truly frustrating is that these same staff members remain employed year after year, despite repeated complaints. This clearly shows that the owners don’t care about customer experience. Their focus seems to be cutting costs by keeping low-paid staff and maximizing profit on the food.
But great service matters — that’s why we’re willing to pay more at premium restaurants that value and respect their customers. It’s time to stop supporting Bairrada Churrascaria. This place needs real change or new ownership altogether. As the old saying goes: "A restaurant is a reflection...
