Big fan of the Broadview Ryu location here. Was very skeptical about trying this food court location, but it was actually very good…. The first time we went at least. Love the thicker noodles that they use here, and the Red Spicy bowl that I tried was pretty solid. I have gone back 2 times since, and each time the quality of the food has significantly declined. After the third visit, it is safe to say I will not be returning.
It is also annoying to eat out of a paper bowl. And they didn’t have trays available, which made it very difficult trying to transport 2 bowls + drinks to a food court table while my partner tried to hold a spot for us. I think the dine-in restaurant is actually less expensive to eat in, while being an altogether more comfortable environment.
Service was pretty abysmal, even for food court standards. I waited 15 minutes for my order that never came. After I asked what was up (since person that ordered after me had gotten their food) they had no record of my order apparently. I showed the receipt to the girl, and she started looking through order slips to see how it got missed. After they finally made my bowl, it didn’t have any of the additional toppings I paid for, so i had to ask them to fix it. Girl gave me attitude and asked to see receipt again to make sure i paid for toppings lol. They weren’t even busy at this time, not sure where this incompetence comes from. Wish they didn’t ask for tip before receiving this “service,” I almost asked them...
Read moreI'm so glad there's a Ryu at the Well! I miss going to Ryus on Baldwin waaaaay back when, and to see that they're now closer to me + it's iekei style - I was excited! I think my expectations were too high when I finally got close to the counter. When asked if I had the option to spice up the original ramen, I was told to get the spicy option which was $1 more. However when looking at the condiments that are on the other side of the counter, there's sichimi spice for you to add... So yes, you can spice up your ramen if you order the original. No pictures taken of the condiments but there was spice, garlic paste, ginger paste and also minced onions. I ordered the combo because I wanted more meat - this I think I was given good advice because I was told I could get the combo with 2 pieces of karaage + a pop. I got the bottled tea and paid a bit more for that. So when the meal was ready to be picked up, it was literally two buckets of hot food and no tray to take it in. Thank goodness I had a bag with me, so they offered a lid to close up the karaage so I can place in my bag, picked up some cutlery to also put in my bag, but the ramen I picked up and daintily walked it to my seat which happened to be on the other side of the food hall... I think packing it to go would have been a more prudent choice. Taste-wise it was good, better than your usual food court ramen. I will come again and do the original one and add my own...

Although I understand this was a food court, I was expecting more from the ramen in terms of flavour. I have to admit the slices of pork were the best feature and tasted nice. The noodles and pork broth were standard. Two slices of seaweed were placed on top and there was also a little spinach added. The standard ramen did not come with soft boiled egg. The ramen was eatable with a little more difficulty with a small plastic spoon along with the chop sticks. The stall is cashless. The price of $16 for ramen which was about equivalent with what you'd pay at other stalls in...
