I am compelled to share my recent, deeply disturbing and disgusting experience at the Five Guys restaurant located North Queens Sherway area. This visit was marked by unsanitary conditions, a hair in my burger (as evident in the photo provided), and an unpleasant encounter with the manager, leaving me thoroughly disgusted and disappointed and questioning the overall integrity of this restaurant.
Upon entering, I immediately noticed a lack of basic hygiene practices among the kitchen staff – all five men working without the required beard mesh. The fact that these people are allowed to operate a restaurant where there is food boggles my mind. How they don't even use their common sense and understand that their hair may fall on or in the food is just insane to me. This type of stuff seems to be happening more and more these days with a certain type of demographic. This clear violation of health and safety regulations raises serious concerns about the overall cleanliness of the food preparation area.
My disgust and frustration was deepened when I discovered a hair embedded in the patty of my burger, as documented in the photo I have attached. This is a clear breach of cleanliness standards and an oversight that significantly impacted my dining experience.
Adding to my frustration was the manager's response when I approached him regarding the hair in my burger. Instead of addressing the issue promptly and professionally, he refused to provide a refund until I made it clear that I would be reporting the unsanitary conditions and the fact none of them were following policy of wearing a beard mesh.
I urge the head office of Five Guys to take immediate corrective action regarding hygiene practices and customer service. Customers should not have to endure such disgusting and unpleasant experiences, especially when it comes to issues as fundamental as food safety and cleanliness.
This review serves as both a critique and a plea for improvement. I sincerely hope that the necessary changes are implemented swiftly, ensuring that Five Guys upholds the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service and as for myself I will no longer be going to this Five Guys location and I urge anyone who reads this to not to either until the owners change because it starts with...
Read moreMight as well call this 5 Guys Sloppy Joes. We went to the Etobicoke location yesterday and the burger was completely mashed up. The girl cooking is slicing them up to tell if they are cooked through. My first burger was cut into 1/4 so the entire burger just fell apart. Took it back and the guy said he’d give me another burger just show him the receipt so he knows what it was. Then he tells me hey look I’ll just give you a patty. What am I going to do with a patty? The entire burger bun and toppings fell apart there was nothing left. I said no I’ll take the burger. I was so mad at the person who made my burger at the time but really who is training these employees and where is the follow up. Corporate needs to visit these places and make sure people know what they are doing. The guy taking our order also had the personality of Oscar the grouch. Each topping I asked for seemed to annoy him more and more. If you don’t like taking burger orders, pro tip, don’t work at a burger restaurant. People go out to relax not get attitude for ordering a burger and then have the burger completely chopped up. Maybe this employee is going the chopped burger route, but I was not impressed. All fast food restaurants now are about the same district managers are no where and the quality shows. I was at a Wendy’s and when I asked for a hamburger the employee told me they didn’t have any beef sandwiches also told me the spicy chicken was discontinued. Get on your employees and stay on them it isn’t that hard. Managers need to watch what employees are doing and train them. Every day all day. Unskilled employees need constant supervision, training and diligent reminders of how the job is done. That’s just the reality of it but you can tell no one who knows how to cook a burger has been to this...
Read moreI will never come back to this location. Listen to the warnings from other reviewers.
My friends had never had Five Guts before, said let's go then. This was the first mistake made by choosing this location.
The fries were mushy and undercooked. Ordered Large Cajun fries and was given a barely full, barely seasoned cup of fries.
The Burger itself was fine, but my bun got super soggy due to the primary reason I will not return to this store.
Friend and I ordered milkshakes. Called our order, got the food, and was told it would be a minute for the milkshake. It's not a problem. Girl was on the machine, making them not a problem. 5 minutes go by, and the milkshakes she was making was for an app delivery order. Fine, no worries, kindly remind guy. I'm waiting on the 2 milkshake. He tells the girl. She goes to the machine. Makes one, takes to the side where they package orders, then goes to the back. They come out 5 minutes later with a bucket of fries and starts cooking fries.
Once again, speak to the worker. Asks to see my receipt. I had it to him. He says just one second. Tells the fry girl about the milkshakes again. She goes over to the machine, and over 7 minutes makes 3 milkshakes. 2 goes to delivery app orders, and one goes to a customer who ordered after me.
So now this is intentional. No one can be thus absent-minded and trash at their job. Guy still sees me standing their. Asks employees about my shakes. The machine is out of the soft serve cream and has to be refilled, another 6 minutes pass, and they finally produce the milkshakes we ordered.
I hope this location goes out of business and that everyone loses their jobs. None of ya should be employed in...
