Solid 3/3.5 stars. Kinda reminded me of a breakfast diner more than anything except the decor was more in line with a family-style restaurant.
Service, speed of food, value - 4/5 Food - 3/5
We were on our way to another restaurant but popped to see what Sunset served as there was quite a lot of people inside at around 12:45pm on a Saturday. We decided to stay as we suddenly craved breakfast food and the menu had what we were looking for (standard breakfast - including eggs, bacon, Sausage, pancakes, French toast, etc).
We were greeted at the front door with smiles by the host and overall, the service was excellent! Our waitress was attentive, checked on us a few times throughout the meal, and we never once felt rushed even though there were people waiting for a table.
We ordered the sunset super and an all day breakfast with ham. That, along with a coffee was only $25 all-in with tax and tip! It's not bad especially if you're on a budget as were full and even had leftovers.
The only downside of our meal was the food. Although it came out quick, the food lacked seasoning - especially the potatoes. They were a bit mushy (not crispy at all) and it tasted really plain. We had to add ketchup and a bit of hot sauce to give it some flavour. On the flip side, the ham was really salty but it was thick and to be honest, I had it with the potatoes which made the potatoes taste slightly better.
Overall, the meal did satisfy our craving and we were in and out within 40 mins. Sunset is located within a complex which contained a lot of furniture stores including Structube, Bombay (closing down soon), and Marshalls so you can go for a nice walk afterwards to get rid of the food coma you might experience lol...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming to this location for nearly 8 years. We NEVER Had one incident or issue with our food or the service. This is a family run establishment and everyone goes beyond the call of duty to make the customers happy. I have personally witnessed this myself. I'm appalled to read these kind of reviews from customers or jealous businesses who are trying to sabotage businesses through social media. If businesses did a better job of running their own businesses then they would not have to result in this type of behavior. I'm also tired of the self-entitled customers and over privileged people who think that customers are always right and they themselves don't make mistakes even if there is an issue, some people feel the need to voice it for attention or to get something free. They should be ashamed of themselves and there should be better screening practices from Google and from a head office standpoint prior to reviews going public. If a customer has an issue they should go into the restaurant and see if the owners or managers can make it better. It should be addressed at that time, not a few days later. So tired of these false baseless reviews. The folks at this location love what they do and it shows love and they should not be disheartened by nasty fake reviews We love...
Read moreVery disappointing today. My friend just got back from a trip and we decided to go for breakfast and catch up. It was very busy today as expected for a Sunday late morning, however it didn't take long to get a table, or our food. My sausages were room temperature at best, but that's not why I will never come to this location again. My friend was still not even done her food, and the waitress didn't ask us if we needed anything else, just dropped our bills off. Normally when ever we come the waitress asks if we wanted anything else or more coffee, but nope straight to the bills. I was wanting to get something else and more coffee... so we waited for the waitress to come back, and it was not until after my friend spilled her water that someone paid us any attention. After the spill the very rude waitress threw our reprinted bills on the table and walked away. We discussed this with an employee as we were putting out coats on and she pointed out the owner... "the man in the plaid shirt" and told us to let him know how displeased we were. When we were talking to the man in the plaid shirt, the owner, he said nothing. Not even an apology for his awful employee. He just cashed us out and let us leave...
