For a while, I'd been walking past this bustling little restaurant in North York, always curious about the crowd it drew. Finally, I got the chance to see what the fuss was about. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! First off, the deal is unbeatable – a hearty meal for just $9.99 that could easily stretch into one and a half, maybe even two meals. The dish I tried was a mouth-watering combination of pork knuckle, cabbage, pickled greens, egg, and tofu. The flavors were beautifully melded with an overall sweet braised soy taste that had me savoring every bite. The place itself is small, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in service. The staff were quick, efficient, and incredibly friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. However, I did notice it's hard to see the English menu from outside, which might be a bit off-putting for some. Be warned, though, this place can get packed! During dinner time, there's often a long line, given the few tables available. I didn't check if there was more seating upstairs, but it might be worth exploring if you're dining in. Overall, I would definitely go back for takeout. It's a gem of a spot that offers great value for money and delicious food. Perfect for anyone looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank!

A small Chinese takeout joint (with two tables inside) with equally small menu to offer. The rice combo comes in three meats: pork knuckles, pork intestines, and mix of the two. The combo comes with a healthy helping of rice, pickled vegetables, and a tea egg. The chosen meats will be arrayed on top of the rice and drenched with covered in broth, which would then seep into the rice. Since I have problems processing regret, I ended up buying both combo types to try them all. The pork knuckles were very tender and flavourful, not too fatty, with slightly chewy top layer skin. The soy sauce broth seeped into the skin and meat, steeping all layers in deep flavour. The pork intestines were definitely an acquired taste, but if you enjoy eating innards (or have the perchance for adventure), you'd be satisfied. The combo came with generous helping of intestines that I had to dig deep to reach the rice layer. With the limited space, most people came for take out. I hope with increased exposure, this hidden gem can outgrow the current venue and spread their wings.

I finally tried the famous Longjiang Pork Knuckle Rice (猪脚饭) after seeing it all over social media—and it did not disappoint! The pork knuckle was incredibly tender, with a rich collagen coating that sticks to your lips. Adding a few spoonfuls of that flavorful sauce to the rice makes every bite heavenly. For just $9.99, you get a mountain of deliciousness! I also tried the braised pork intestine rice (肥肠饭), and it was just as amazing. The intestines were perfectly cooked—bouncy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the pickled radish side. 💡 Pro Tips: Add $2.99 for pickled radish and a drink. The Northeast rice is top-notch! The braised tofu soaks up the sauce and bursts with flavor. Seating is limited (only 4 tables), and weekends can be busy, so plan accordingly. This place is a hidden gem and a true inflation-buster! Definitely worth a visit. 👏👏
