imPerfect Fresh Eats — Restaurant in Toronto

Brief: Meal was fresh/tasty. Value (portion) was good. Service was quick and friendly but a little unreliable. Daily specials are nice. Would eat here again for convenience but wouldn't go out of my way.

Detailed: Came here first/only time, just in the neighbourhood looking for a quick lunch.

Ordered the daily special which I like that they have, because I suffer decision fatigue. It was a specific bowl and a smoothie, I added chicken. I saw the default on the screen was "no dressing" on my bowl line item and so I specified chipotle ranch dressing upon order. Staff member at POS was very helpful since I had no idea how to dictate my order.

While preparing my bowl, the prep staff member asked if peanut sauce was okay... I corrected them. I'm not sure if the order processes include listing the dressing and/or asking is standard practice and it didn't matter that I specified?

Later I noticed my bowl didn't come with chicken but I dined-in and noticed. I asked for it to be added and they politely apologized and added chicken. Had I not dined in I just would have just lost out on cash and my protein intake for the day.

Straws, napkins, forks, and spoons are available at the end of the counter. Bags are available for take away (they offered, I declined). Small dining area with nice big window and bench cushions/patio chairs. Dine-in wasn't busy, I was the only one around noon on a weekday, but a constant revolving door of app pick-up orders were coming through. Seemed like a popular takeout choice and looks to travel cleanly when packaged.

The smoothie cups are sealed with plastic film. Have a napkin handy to guard backsplash when you pierce the film with their paper straws. They're like bubble tea straws; big gauge with a bevel at the end. Make it a confident stab! Otherwise you might make a small mess but I'm also just clumsy haha

I’ve been to many imPerfect locations in Ontario but this one is by far the best! The service was amazing and friendly, and the atmosphere was modern while still being cozy.

I ordered the Char Chicken bowl today with double chicken and a side of avocado aioli, paired with a butterfly pea lemonade and it was all delicious. The chicken is moist, tender, and so flavourful! You can tell it has been marinated, with hints of smokiness from the grill. The sweet potato mash is a great addition to the bowl with creamy and sweet elements to build and develop flavours profiles as you eat. The avocado aioli is fresh and well balanced with acidity to balance out the dish.

The butterfly pea lemonade was sweet, cold and refreshing - exactly what you want on a hot summer day!

Overall, the food is very healthy (includes all macros: carbs, proteins, fats) and balanced, while still being delicious. Seasonings and flavours are on point. The portion size is huge and can easily feed 2 people - definitely worth the money! You can tell that time and care is put into the food and experience you get here. Definitely an elevated option compared to competitors like Chipotle and Freshii. 10/10...
