Was that aStarbucks moment at lunch yesterday when I was singled out and told I’d have to give up my table if a larger group came in, after I’d ordered and paid for a coffee and croissant, while waiting for my wife? And again, when I decided to order soup and sandwich for lunch, paid for it, and waited for it to be prepared? In calling my name to collect my order, the barista publicly announces a vernal warning to me, by name, repeating that I must vacate my table in 10 minutes! I look around me. I’m at the middle table of three, and on either side there’s a white couple, and another single white guy, dressed in hospital scrubs, AND neither of them are asked to give up their tables. I was a paying customer; my wife did join me and ordered lunch, too. It was not a busy day, and there were plenty of empty tables inside and in the patio area. I do not recommend this aroma location. They need to change management and fix their service policies. There’s a better serviced location on Yonge St near Isabella St, as well as other d’offre...
Read moreSalad Fail. Service was mighty slow. The cashier had taken another customer before me even though I was next in line. When I ordered the tuna and asked if they were in the form of balls not flakes, the cashier said yes but rung me in for tuna flakes. They made the salad with tuna flakes. They kindly remade the order but only gave me one portion of tuna salad instead of the 2 portions I had paid for. When I inquired, they said it was 2 portions. $6 for tuna and $2 for 4 slices of avocados. This salad cost me $15. They took some time to remake my order. No urgency, especially the cashier since I expressed I was in a hurry. Highly disappointed with the level of customer service and the portion of food I overpaid for. I do not recommend coming to this location and would recommend getting salad from the grocery store. I love aroma but this location was a waste of my time and hard...
Read moreI visited Aroma Espresso Bar on a sunny afternoon to hang out. The café is attached to a nearby building and has a clean dark-framed exterior with its iconic signage that stands out. Inside, it’s quite spacious, offering plenty of tables and seating options. The menu is displayed on overhead TV screens, but they also have printed versions and a digital kiosk for ordering, which was a nice, modern touch. I ordered an iced Americano, which was prepared in just a few minutes. It was served in a sleek takeout cup, along with Aroma’s signature chocolate. The coffee was refreshing, smooth, and not bitter at all, which I really enjoyed. There’s also outdoor seating available, perfect for enjoying a quiet afternoon. If you’re in downtown Toronto and looking for a relaxed spot to unwind, this is a great place...
