We ordered catering delivery for our office lunch for about 40 people this Wednesday. THEY WERE THE ONLY RESTAURANT SO FAR THAT DELIVERED ON TIME for our catering orders. Other restaurants we previously ordered office lunch from arrived late (one restaurant arrived more than 45 minutes late and didn't even apologize). Lunch was a roaring success with only the shrimp papaya salad left over (which was much much more than I expected, I think we could've just ordered 1 big one instead of 2). The Banh Mi (Deluxe, Lemongrass Grilled Chicken with Black Pepper Sauce, Cheese Grilled Beef, Tofu Papaya) were delicious and the Fresh Rolls (Shrimp, Tofu) were soft and refreshing. I haven't tried the vegan bowls myself but one of the employees mentioned that they quite enjoyed all the vegan/vegetarian menu available at lunch. One of the employees kept a Banh Mi in the fridge overnight to eat it the next day, and was pleasantly surprised how good it tasted even after being in the fridge (microwaved 30 seconds). The Deluxe Banh Mi was very flavorful, but if you prefer a more "Westernized-flavors", I suggest the Cheese Grilled Beef. I haven't tried the Lemongrass one personally, but was told it was very good too. Make sure to put the fish sauce in the papaya salad! The flavor is much better with it in then not. I enjoyed 3 servings of the salad alone XD Lamhan was very accommodating regarding dietary restrictions - the vegan bowl comes with imitation beef and mushrooms and one of the vegetarian employee could not have mushrooms, so the restaurant made it with a substitute item and put a note on it to ensure it goes to the correct person. Maggie was great in helping me with the catering orders and I really would like to visit the store for another taste of the delicious food from Lamhan!! (Unfortunately, I was too busy setting up lunch to take any pictures :( but the Fresh Rolls were all individually wrapped, which was a nice surprise, we received individual fish sauce & peanut sauce containers instead of one huge one of each, and all the Banh Mi were cut in half with bread wraps on them so it was really easy to pick them up without needing any tongs! I think it was the least amount of clean up I had to do after organizing an...
Read moreI heard really good things about this place and was looking forward to having a meal there.
My friend and I arrived about 35 minutes before close, and we specifically asked if it would be okay to place an order (even told them the dishes) in respect to their closing protocols. They said it was fine so my friend ordered but when I ordered right after, they said they could not because they were shutting their grill off??? Even though I asked prior and they said it was okay, and it was the same dish as my friend’s. They have no suggestions as to what I could order, and I could see the cashier becoming very impatient. I was able to get fresh rolls which were not really that fresh, falling apart and tasted pretty bad. The only thing I ordered that I actually wanted was their iced coffee which was made poorly and leaking everywhere.
I got food poisoning that night lol so 10/10 not...
Read moreI visited Lamhan for the first time yesterday and ordered two sandwiches. The first one, fried papaya tofu, was filled with fresh and tasty ingredients and I'd give it a good grade: 8/10. The second one, grilled mushroom, was absolutely stellar. The two types of mushrooms (oyster and cremini) were prepared to perfection, the vegan BBQ sauce was sublime and the rest of the ingredients combined well with other elements of the sandwich. I'd therefore give the grilled mushroom a 10/10 - I highly recommend it to anyone (vegetarian or non-vegetarian).
Additionally, the service was very courteous and you can tell the staff really care about preparing the banh mi properly (unlike other places where they just slap the sandwich together in 20 seconds or less).
To sum up: if you're looking for a top notch banh mi spot, Lamhan is the...
