One of my favourite coffee spots in the city! As it is my local coffee spot, I used to frequently bring my family & friends who come to visit. The lattes and cappuccinos are so good & my boyfriend loves their iced americanos. It is a cozy, quiet spot, perfect for grabbing a coffee & catch up on some reading. However, two things I will note is the lighting is extremely bright and slightly clinical feeling to the point it actually gives me a headache. The lights are very cold feeling for such a cute spot. Second point is the 50 minute time limit within the seating area, I have brought friends in the past for a catch up and to introduce them to the cafe and have been told politely that there’s a 50 minute limit & to basically leave as our time was up? This in my opinion is ridiculous & also embarrassing even when being asked to leave politely. People I have brought have said they wouldn’t return purely because of this reason & it’s a shame because the customer service and coffee is great overall! They also have a strict no laptop policy which as a remote worker is a shame but I understand that to a certain extent as I know people tend to camp out in cafes all day with laptops and only purchase 1 coffee. But again, time limits on having a coffee? A little extreme and the only place in the city I have seen that does this. Hopefully they change this as it has put me off on many occasions to visit because of the time limit & introducing people going forward. I hope this changes in the future. But overall, definitely worth a visit to try their coffee as it’s...

The gelato here is out of the world! I had the pistachio and hazelnut flavours as a affogato. The pistachio gelato was the star of the show. You can taste the pistachio, unlike other places where there’s this weird artificial flavour. It is so smooth and creamy, no other gelato I have had in the GTA is as smooth and creamy. The owner makes everything fresh. Their gelato reminded me of my trip to Italy years ago with my friend who was also having gelato with me. The gelato here is way better than places like Eataly and Nani’s. The price was $10 including tax which is affordable very good price.

We got there 10 minutes before closing amd the owner allowed us to stay there to finish even after closing. He even offered us some lemon lime sorbet to try! It was so delicious!

He noticed we had a huge cake purchased from another store to be split and offered to help us divide it into two. He gave us parchment papers from the kitchen and reuse-able bags to use.

The shop is very clean and including the kitchen because I was in there. We even talked about the Fellow kettles he used and the Acaia scale. I asked the owner for his opinions on both. Very very nice guy, I am so happy to have the experience to chat with him!

I am definitely going back there even if it’s out of my way. Everything was top notch, including the gelato,...

ordered gelato and drinks, sat down for about barely 10 minutes. old man told us to move so that other customers to sit since ā€œthere are four of youā€. paid 9 dollars for mediocre melting gelato and wasn’t even allowed to sit when we got there first come first serve. šŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘Ž

edit: addressing readers as opposed to the actual reviewer as well as being 100% defensive and condescending does not look good for a business. simply acknowledging and apologizing for the poor experience of a paying customer while politely explaining your view of the matter would have been much better šŸ™‚ sharing one table was not the issue (we complied no questions asked), it was the way the business went about it. if the request was expressed in a polite, apologetic way, this would not have been an issue at all! it is not a paying customer’s fault that the place does not have enough seating, and it is not on a customer to accommodate for other customers. and to clarify, we did not ask for 3 extra spoons, we asked for 2, and they were DISPOSABLE spoons. not sure why it is surprising that a few friends would want to share 2 big scoops of ice cream, and not sure why it is frowned upon to use the bathroom after paying šŸ˜„finally, assuming the identity of the reviewer is an odd choice, i am not a woman, i...

First off, I think it would be helpful if the café’s name was visible from the window. It took me a minute to figure out if I was even in the right spot, Google Maps says ā€œMoss Park Espresso,ā€ but the window just says ā€œCoffee & Gelato.ā€ When you walk in, the main floor is actually a plant store. You have to go a few steps down to get to the cafĆ©. Once inside, the vibe is super peaceful. It’s quiet, and even when people talk, they do it in a way that doesn’t disturb others. It’s a really small space, only 4 small tables, and laptops or tablets aren’t allowed, which kind of forces you to be present or actually talk to someone. It gives the place a different feel from most cafĆ©s. I even saw a few people reading books. The staff were very friendly. I had a quick moment of eye contact with an older man in the back who gave me a warm smile, small gesture, but appreciated. The coffee was good, nothing mind blowing, but solid. They had a small selection of pastries like biscotti. Overall, it was a good experience. That said, I’m not sure I’d go back, mainly because of the location. It’s in a part of Queen Street I usually try to avoid, lots of people struggling in the area, and it doesn’t always feel the safest.
