Came here with my wife for dinner. It was around 6pm on a Tuesday and the place seemed quite busy. Walking in, the first thing I noticed is that we weren't greeted by the staff. While the restaurant was about 75% full, it would have been nice to have been noticed and welcomed, and offered a place to sit. Instead, we had to approach the staff and ask where to sit, so not off on a good note, unfortunately. The menus and water came soon after. We figured out what we wanted quite quickly, but again found the need to waive down the server as they didn't come and check on us for quite a while, despite having two menus and nothing else on our table. The tables are also not prepared. You need to grab your own utensils and napkins. Once we ordered the food (pork and spring roll on vermicelli and a shrimp pad Thai) it didn't take too long for the food to come out. The issue was that it wasn't coming out at the same time. My wife's food came about 10 minutes after mine did, and I shared my food with my wife so that she wasn't just sitting there watching me eat while she too, was quite hungry. I asked one of the servers why the food didn't come out at the same time, and he mentioned it was because "the pad Thai is stir fried". As for the food, my meal was honestly pretty good with the exception that the BBQ pork was sliced really thin, and so it came out barely above room temperature. The noodles, salad, bean sprouts and peanuts all tasted fairly fresh and it was all garnished with some mint. My wife's meal on the other hand was not that good. It was overloaded with dried shrimp (with only a small amount of fresh shrimp) which made the meal in enjoyable for her. She didn't end up finishing it. After having a look it seemed like the whole meal in general was quite dry and didn't look very appetizing. We again got a hold of the servers when we were ready to pay (and provide some feedback about the shrimp meal) as they never stopped to ask us how our meals were or if we needed anything else. To their credit, the female server did listen attentively, sincerely apologized and offered us a 10% discount which we didn't know happened until our bill arrive. We had to ask for the bill twice, but that may have been down to a miscommunication. We had another quick chat when paying for the bill and the server was again quite open to listening and taking some constructive feedback which was nice. As for the atmosphere it was nice. Everything looked pretty new and the dining room was fairly bright and somewhat cool. The decor was a little strange but nothing too unusual. The washrooms were quite clean as well which was nice to see. Overall a solid experience. But in my opinion this restaurant needs to focus some attention on the front of house staff being a bit more attentive to their customers. I understand that this may not be a factor or even considered normal on some Asian cultures. But I'm Canada guest service and hospitality in a restaurant are very important. If they can do that I think they'll have a successful business.

This place offers a free drink for a 5 star review… I am surprised to see so many positive reviews… is it really just bc of the sugary drink? Maybe our experience wasn’t as great. We wanted to give it a second shot, but ended up walking out right after we were seated. Of course we apologized and all, but we are not okay with how dirty the place is. During our second visit, we ordered spring rolls set (one you make yourself for $35) and the lady carried the rice paper with her gloves touching it (THE SAME GLOVES SHE USED TO WIPE OUR TABLE WITH EARLIER WITH AN OLD LOOKING TABLE CLOTH). When I politely asked if it’s okay to have new ones, she said yes and ended up carrying the same ones. Why lie? The place was almost empty, so it wasn’t too busy. Tables and utensils are sticky, fruit flies are flying around, water cups have a smell. Even the waiters clothes are super dirty. Yes, I think these type of things really matter in restaurants, especially if you are charging $25 meals on average. Although the pho itself (during first visit) we tried tasted very good and flavorful, I kept wondering how clean their kitchen is while eating it, not an enjoyable experience. Also the mango shrimp salad isn’t worth it, the advertising and menu is misleading. It sucks because we live in the area and we’re excited to have this new place nearby. However, we are not coming back and don’t recommend it.

I am writing this review from a few weeks back because I would like to be anonymous. I was walking by and noticed this place had newly opened in the area next to St. Louis bar. I walked in and ordered the deep fried spring rolls and house pho. I have peanut allergies so I asked for no peanuts and specified it was for allergies. The waitress said okay and left. When I got my spring rolls it was the fresh rolls and she put peanut sauce with it. I had asked her again if the sauce was no peanuts and she said yeah no peanuts. I let it slide that I got fresh rolls instead of the deep fried rolls because I like both so I didn’t mind. I dipped the rolls into the sauce. And I usually get an immediate feeling when I have been in contact with peanuts. I alerted a person who looks like the owner. She offered to call an ambulance but I thought it was mild at the moment and didn’t want to trouble them. I went for the bill quickly so I could go home and take Benadryl asap. I was surprised she didn’t even offer a discount or ask how I was feeling when I was paying. I didn’t end up finishing my food because my first thought was to get home. The allergies worsened as I neared home, and was sent to the ER. I would say that the staff here need to be more attentive and trained and as a business owner you should be more caring for your customers and staff. That translates later into the staff and food.
