As someone who frequently enjoys Dakgogi's takeout offerings for their consistently high quality, I was eager to experience their dine-in service with friends recently. However, the experience fell short of expectations.
We opted for their half chicken special (opting for the spicy and onion creamy chicken), but unfortunately, they arrived overly sauced, which masked the natural flavours and texture of the meat. The sweet potato fries, usually a side we look forward to, were disappointingly lukewarm and lacked the crispness we've come to expect.
The service, perhaps the most crucial aspect of a dine-in experience, was noticeably lacking. It took an uncomfortably long time for the waitress to address our basic needs such as water refills and providing napkins. It felt as though the staff were more focused on fulfilling takeout and delivery orders, neglecting the patrons dining in.
Despite these shortcomings, the atmosphere was pleasant enough, with a comfortable setting that could have enhanced the experience if the service and food quality had matched.
In conclusion, while Dakgogi continues to excel in their takeout offerings, improvements are necessary for their dine-in service. Enhancing staff attentiveness and ensuring food quality consistency for dine-in customers would greatly enhance the overall dining experience. I remain hopeful that these aspects will be addressed to provide a more balanced and satisfying visit in the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went here last night. We both got food poisoning. Horrible food quality. We got the half and half soy garlic chicken and Yang Neom chicken, mayo corn cheese, kimchi fries. Both sets of chicken had zero drumsticks or flats, I’m not even sure which part of the chicken we were eating. One piece even resembled the neck of the chicken (I tried to crack it but I soon realized it wasn’t a bone, it was cartilage). Mayo corn cheese was floating in a pool of water and extremely undercooked. We originally ordered the bulgogi fries but it came drizzled in so much mayonnaise, we had to send it back. They brought us the kimchi fries, which were still smothered in mayonnaise but the acidity of the kimchi made for better tasting. However, my boyfriend and I left the place feeling sick and experienced really bad food poisoning once we got home. We were up all night. I have not slept a single hour as I write this review. Another customer was throwing up at his table as we walked in the door. He was with a group of people and was sick the entire time we were there. I would never recommend this spot to anyone I know. I’m surprised they’re still operating with people leaving the place feeling sick to their stomach and throwing up. This place is also extremely expensive for the quality of food you receive. Take my advice and go...
Read moreJust had a horrible experience at this restaurant . I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone .
We were seated at a table where the table AND chairs were sticky. My fiancé’s chair was sticky and wet . We informed the waitress about this issue and had politely asked to be seated elsewhere but the waitress said she can’t seat us elsewhere because “it’s going to be busy later”... the restaurant was half empty when we were seated and when we left it was still half empty .
The napkins provided to us were paper towels from the washroom
We had asked for straws for our drinks and the waitress quickly threw it at our table
The food was horrible . The chicken wings were not crispy or flavourful . You’re better off heading to the fry if you want good korean fried chicken .
The waitress sniffed our chicken right in front of us before placing it on our table . This was very unhygienic and made us lose our appetite .
Overall , this restaurant has poor customer service, terrible food and most importantly it was...
