Food was good and fresh, but there’s one lady working there who is pretty rude with us. We arrived earlier than the other guest, but the only available table was taken by that guest while she was away. When she came back, we told her that we were supposed to get the table, not only she didn’t give us the table but she said the other guest arrived first. Ok we didn’t want to force the other guest to leave so we gave up. Then while I was still finishing my food, she came over asking if I want package box. So ridiculous! It was almost their closing time, but there are still 10 min left and all 6 or 8 tables were full and she just asked me. She just walked to us and cut off our conversation while there is still enough time for me to finish. When she handed me the package box, she said your noodle is too spicy, order something not spicy next time. Nevertheless, can you NOT drive your customer away when they are still eating? You can just tell everyone in the restaurant that you are about to close. Why only asked our table while there was still 10min left? The food was good, but the lady was not...

The dining experience at Qing Shu was disappointing. The taste of the Malatang broth was subpar. And the ingredients were stale.
Instead of making their original soup base they are now using premade commercialized soup base, which explains the 9 flavors being offered. The spicy soup base was mediocre with no complexity.
The ingredients for Malatang were not fresh. The meatballs we ordered were stale despite being in the fridge and brought us a lot of discomfort afterwards.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and certainly would never go back. You are guaranteed to find better food in Chinatown instead of paying $30 for a low...
Read more3.5/5 There is a minimum weight of 400 grams, which is a pretty decent portion. I paid around $16 for about 410 grams - price is pretty good.
Casual self serve malatang restaurant where you use tongs to grab what you want, then you choose a broth, they weigh your food, and they cook your food in your chosen broth. There is a good selection of thinly sliced meat, seafood, vegetables, tofu, and more. Make your own sauce using the sauce bar. There is a bubble tea at this location as well. There are only 2 washrooms for the whole restaurant.
Most of the staff don't really speak or respond to English, so I had to rely on my friend. The sauce bar is pretty bare minimum, and the tongs and spoons to make the sauce were so small and difficult to use. I also got a dirty cup with a lipstick mark on it, the waiter didn't understand when I asked for a new cup.
I got the chicken soup, which was pretty good and...
