This is a great ramen place! Went with a large group of relatives and although seating was limited due to the small space they accommodated us. The ramen was excellent with a really strong taste compared to more mild bowls at other restaurants. Portion sizes were good too! Everyone in my party was satisfied with the food they received. In addition, at the time that we visited there was a promotion where you would receive a free pop for one social media posting with an image. Limit of one person of course but this was a nice touch to build word of mouth for the restaurant. It was fun! Now onto the negatives. First is the limited menu. One of the party members in my group was hoping for a bit more variety. In addition, once we ordered it took awhile for our food to arrive. Not to the point where we felt ignored but not as quick as other competing ramen restaurants. Finally, we were a party of six and we had to specifically ask for additional cups. There were only 5 at our tables and no one noticed that we needed an extra one until asked. Not a major issue, but many other restaurants that I have visited will go the extra mile to ensure that everyone has a cup as soon as possible once seating is completed. Regardless of the minor quibbles, I still enjoyed eating here. Food tasted great, prices are reasonable for what you get and the the social media post for a free can of pop made experience a bit fun. Definitely check this place out and give them a chance. On my list of ramen places to eat when I am near Spadina now.

Don't come here expecting authentic Japanese ramen and you will leave satisfied. Located right in Chinatown, I knew it was going to be more of a Chinese fusion ramen. I ordered the fried chicken ramen because it seems like the most popular item and I was very pleasantly surprised. The broth isn't thick like traditional tonkotsu nor was it thin like shoyu - it was more like a hybrid between the two with a light sesame taste. If you've had the sesame shio broth at Isshin, it reminds me of it. However, I dare say I enjoy this one more than Isshin because it's so flavourful and there's non-conventional toppings like cabbage and carrot. Bonus points for the free egg when it's a $1.50-2 top-up at other places. The fried chicken itself was super crispy and delicious. It wasn't a combination I expected to shine, but it sure did. Another unexpected perk was the self-service free plum juice. It was slightly sweeter than I would have liked, but free is free. I went slightly after lunch hour and there was only one other couple. Despite being right on Spadina st, this place feels more like a hidden gem. It definitely deserves more attention!

I rode by on my ebike and was curious. Went in and chose a window seat to watch my bike. Server promptly came by and gave me a menu. The menu itself is actually quite short, so you would think that the cooking would be great and the service would be quick. Wrong... I ordered the tantan ramen with the octopus ball appetizer. The order took way too long to process, i think it was around 10 to 15 mins. The appetizer was ok i guess - they were too perfect to be hand made and i wonder whether or not they were cooked enough cause the inside was abit too gooey... The ramen dish... the vegetables were stone cold, the broth luke warm, the marinated egg was not left in the marinade long enough to even darken the egg white. The noodles were abit over cooked and consequently, abit mushy. The broth was dull in taste and character. As for table condiments, there was a small jar of chilli paste, reminiscent of what is found in chinese restaurants. I asked for japanese chilli powder and the server pointed out their jar of chilli paste, well, ... okay. One other thing i call them out on is the offer of a free appetizer if i post a favorable review on instagram...nope, i will pay my bill and be candid in this review. This is my second supposed 'ramen' restaurant in old chinatown and i think i will avoid ANY 'ramen' restaurant in this area of the city... Service - 3/5 Food - 2 / 5 Im generous this afternoon, but im not taking the transit to this 'station' again...27$ just flew out of my wallet...sigh...and to think i could have gone to kenzo ramen, Hokkaido ramen santouka, even kinton ramen...still shaking my head in regret... PS: please ditch the 'gold' theme on the utensils and things, geeezzzzzz....

Was craving spicy ramen and decided to check out this spot in the Spadina/Chinatown. My first impression was that it is the cutest restaurant ever. The owners (and decorator) made the best of a small space. Everything in it is super cute- orange furniture, gold crockery, tissue holder etc. and it was clean! The service was superb. Aileen, our hostess, is the nicest hostess I've encountered in any Toronto restaurant. She jumped up from her meal (i think it was staff lunch) to help us once we walked in and she was attentive and helpful the entire time we were there. I had the spicy tan tan ramen and while this comes mildly spicy, I wanted my broth extra spicy and this was perfect. The broth was thick and spicy, the noodles and vegetables were fresh and the chashu and eggs went well with the meal. My plus 1 had the same dish but replaced the chashu with chicken and was also not as spicy which was also a great meal. We had free plum juice made by the chef. The pricing was also great for the quality of food. Absolute value for money. I'll definitely be back for more Ramen as well as try out other things off the menu.

After realizing it is Chinese run as supposed to Japanese, my expectations went down. However, it did not disappoint. My 2 boys could confirm. Pros: Solid ramen texture, great soup base (had Tonkatsu and Black Tonkatsu), cha Siu was perfectly cooked tender. Very good service, waitress was very nice. It was 6pm, surprised to be the only table. The ramens were legitly great. Can improve: had only 1 tiny sheet of nori, just 2 pieces of cha Siu, eggs could be 2 levels runnier. The room temperature was way too warm, which may be what prevents me or others from coming back, let me know if this ever changes. I wasn't suffering but it wasn't enjoyable. It felt like high 20s when outdoor was 21. Storage is inside the bathroom, which causes hygiene concerns, especially when take-out boxes etc are stacked next to toilet bowl. I feel this place has a lot of potential, especially if temperature gets adjusted, the rest isn't big deal if quality remains. The chinese vibe may drag it down a bit for those looking for genuine Japanese ramen.
