Tacorrito: A Mashup with Mixed Results

As the name suggests, Tacorrito is a blend of taco and burrito vibes, but don’t come expecting traditional Mexican fare. It’s a no-frills joint with limited seating and a straightforward menu. The portion sizes are generous, which is always a win, but the fusion approach doesn’t quite hit the mark.

Out of everything, the fish taco stood out as the clear winner—fresh, flavorful, and probably the only thing I’d come back for. The rest? Let’s just say the name Tacorrito kind of prepares you for the unconventional takes.

If you’re in the area and craving something quick and filling, the fish taco might be worth a try, but beyond that, it’s a...

I repeat, do not waste your time buying food here. I ordered a chicken and ground beef taco.

The food was horrible. When I stepped out of the establishment, I opened my container to find that the tacos I had ordered had spilled. There was nothing (napkins, foil, etc.) to separate the tacos from spilling. However, I still grabbed a spoon and tried to eat it. Ground beef was tasteless, not seasoned, and had absolutely no flavour. I didn't even eat the chicken taco because it contained large chunks of pink bits, which I assumed were chicken pieces that had fallen out. Overall, it seemed to be a large salad bowl with mushy taco shells and meat.

Save your money and go to an...

Surprisingly great for a “fast food” Mexican joint. Quite impressed and must have if you’re craving tacos in Toronto. Even some of the authentic Mexican places around Toronto haven’t been as good as this one, specially for the price.

Took 2 tacos and you’re allowed to vary the protein in it.

Had the Spicy fish tacos and Ground beef tacos. You can choose between corn or flour tortillas.

You can see they were made with a lot of care and were quite fresh. Both were awesome!

Chimichanga (fried burrito) was delicious too.

The fries are a hit too. Like Costco fries but even better.

Can’t wait to try some of their other items, specially their...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Tried Tacorrito today and honestly? Zero regrets and one happy stomach. I got the bowl with the vegan patty and it was shockingly good — flavourful, nicely spiced, and held its own under a glorious avalanche of guac, corn, and crushed chips. The textures were on point. Crunchy, creamy, fresh — basically a love triangle of satisfaction in a bowl. I didn’t expect a fast-casual burrito joint to nail a vegan option, but here we are. Living in the future. Highly recommend for anyone craving big flavour without the meat nap after.
