The hostess was awesome - she deserved a five star. She welcomed us and found us a spot to meet our needs while we waited for a table, when we got the table it was right by the door/speaker and she was understanding, so allowed us to go back to the front of the patio where we were originally waiting for a table to eat. The place where we ate had a nice view of the street and market - great for people watchin. It was missing a foot rest, which would have made the high top eating more comfortable Our server was a young guy and a complete step down from the hostess, he deserved a two star. He never checked on us, so we couldn't tell him he forgot the mayo we requested. He had no personality, either. There was also a payment system issue that he didn't know how to handle and we ended up waiting 10 minutes to be able to pay. The bartender was finally able to help us. The food was mediocre. My partner had the burger and fries, which was standard, but never got the requested mayo for fries. The chicken burger was just ok. I had to spit out a few cartilage pieces, which was unusual. I'd go back for drinks on the patio, but I wouldn't bother with food. This place is good for the location and patio and not much else.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, it boasts a gorgeous patio that offers a perfect blend of urban energy and serene ambiance. The food was nothing short of amazing, with each dish showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients and expertly crafted flavors. The wide range of drink options, from exquisite cocktails to an extensive wine list, ensured there was something to complement every meal. The customer service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout our visit. Must have dishes would Be the bang bang Prawns, parmigiana fries, Korean BBQ style Short Ribs, and of coarse their. Hamburgers!! Whether you're there for a laid-back brunch, a cozy dinner date, or just hanging out with friends, this place is a fantastic pick for a memorable meal.

Went for brunch on a Saturday. Got a table easily. They had some specials as well, which they were trialling before potentially adding to the menu. I ordered the pulled pork Benny from this special menu. It wasn’t anything great. The pork made the English muffin very soggy, so much so that it was falling off the fork. The onions on the Benny didn’t really add much in terms of taste or texture. The potatoes could have also done with some more salt. My friend ordered the breakfast tacos. At the end of the meal, he was very disappointed and said that he could’ve made a better version of them at home! The scrambled egg was lacking any sort of seasoning, while the rest of the toppings just seemed to be some veggies thrown on top. The service was quite good, and they offered to not charge my friend for his meal upon hearing his feedback.

My vacation reviews continue! Cool spot with live music, good beer selection, and decent food menu.

Food 3/5 -- I'm just basing this off of one thing that we ordered while we were there, so if it's not the full picture, I apologize. We were kind of just grabbing snacks and drinks all over the area on our first night in Toronto. We ended up at The Corner Place because we liked the vibe, and ordered Poutine.

Not bad at all, but not the best poutine I've had by any stretch. It had a lot of scallions on it, and was made with beef gravy -- I like these things. The cheese was pre-melted, which wasn't ideal, and the fries weren't the greatest. Nevertheless, pretty solid meal considering the surroundings.

Atmosphere 5/5 -- Really awesome patio, but we opted to sit inside, which was also nice. They pull off the corner pub vibe pretty well, and do it with hipster-chic interior. There was also live music outside and they had speakers amplifying the music to the indoor space as well.

Cleanliness 5/5 -- They were pretty on top of cleaning, and I noticed tables were bussed immediately. The bathroom was also clean, but kind of a trip walking to. It's located down a twisty flight of stairs and there are lots of mirrors along the way. I probably sound kind of stupid or oblivious saying this, but I comically mistook the mirrors for hallways, and would momentarily wonder why their basement was so f--king huge. D'oh!

Service 3/5 -- Decent service, but not very attentive overall. I ended up tossing my card on the table after we sat for a bit with empty glasses and bowl. The bar manager or whatever noticed right away and took our payment, but it also seems like this would be a lost opportunity to sell more stuff to people who want more.

Overall 4/5 -- One of the high points of the trip so far, but we are starting to notice a trend of bad or inattentive service. Being an industry worker I'm sympathetic to under staffing, but I haven't seen any sign of it here so far... kind of a far cry from my own experiences with under staffing...

Located just a stone's throw from Toronto's iconic St. Lawrence Market, The Corner Place offers a culinary experience that perfectly complements the market's vibrant atmosphere. This charming eatery stands out with its exceptional menu and welcoming ambiance, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts and casual diners alike.

One of the highlights of The Corner Place is their red snapper ceviche. This dish showcases the restaurant’s commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ceviche is a delightful blend of tangy, citrusy flavors and tender fish, creating a refreshing start to any meal. Another standout is their hummus and olives, which offer a Mediterranean touch with creamy, flavourful hummus paired with briny, perfectly marinated olives.

For those craving comfort food, the burger at The Corner Place is a true treat. It features a perfectly cooked patty with a succulent, juicy texture, complemented by fresh toppings and a soft, toasted bun. The homemade fries served alongside are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite.

The Corner Place also excels in its beverage offerings, particularly their martinis. Expertly crafted and served with flair, these cocktails are a testament to the establishment’s dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. The attentive and friendly staff further enhance the dining experience, ensuring that each visit is enjoyable and memorable.

In summary, The Corner Place enriches the St. Lawrence Market experience with its exceptional food and drink offerings. Whether you're indulging in their ceviche, savoring a burger, or enjoying a well-made martini, this gem of a restaurant adds a distinctive flavour to the area's culinary landscape.

Over the summer I scouted out venues for my offices' end of year holiday party for 60+ guests. After a visit, and a chat with manager Goncalo, I knew this was the venue for us. The decor, the price options, and the menu flexibility were everything I looked for in a venue. Leading up to the event Goncalo was always quick to respond to my inquiries, even if he did not have the answer immediately he told me he would get back soon, and he did! I felt he did everything in his power to make sure we had the best customer experience at The Corner Place.

Once our holiday party date finally arrived, Goncalo and his team Axel, Leah and Kate were ready to make our event special. The servers, bar staff and cooks did everything they could to serve my coworkers drink orders in a timely fashion. The team was flexible when I made requests to changing the food schedule, or requesting we put takeout boxes and water stations out. They also helped us setup our personal trivia session and let us use their in-house sound system.

The food came out quickly, and presented wonderfully. The charcuterie board was more beautiful than any I had ever seen before. It was almost too good to eat! However, we did and each piece was fresh and flavourful. We also ordered: Veggie spring rolls, mini veggie samosas, chicken dumplings, beef skewers, angus beef sliders, butter chicken with rice, burrito bowl cups, and haloumi tataki salad.

The Corner Place was so good to us! The whole team truly made our experience a great one. Many of us mentioned going back there as a team in the future, and bringing our families outside of work.

Thank you again,...
