The Jason George — Restaurant in Toronto

I used to frequent The Jason George regularly when I worked around the corner, about a decade ago. We were in the neighborhood tonight and wanted some casual drinks & apps, so we ducked in since it looked familiar, and to get out of the cold. There were a few tables open, and the manager came over and asked us right away if we’d be OK/warm enough sitting at the two-seater right beside the door. We happily obliged, and waited while they wiped it down for us. When we sat down, I input our parking details into the Green P app, for our car outside. It was 6:52pm. The server came by 10 minutes later, and we thought he’d be taking our drink orders, but he said “sorry, I think someone left a bag behind the table”. He reached behind my fiancé’s chair and grabbed a backpack and walked away. I checked the clock on my phone at 7:18pm and we still hadn’t been served at all. I turned around and saw staff chatting at the far end of the bar. I tried to wave someone down to take our order or grab waters since it had been almost half an hour, and after one of the bartenders waved back, but didn’t come over, we got up and left. The table to the left of us got checked on twice, and the table to the right of us got waters, and also their bill while we were there, and got zero attention. Very strange, and not very hospitable! The Corner Place, Duke’s, and Hot House were all within a block of us, and were able to accommodate the two of us for a few rounds of drinks and snacks! I’d recommend them instead, for great and...

We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 15 years. We have always had a great experience. Today was not the case. There were three of us and one of our orders did not arrive. We were told that the machine cut it off and it would be out in a few minutes. Supposedly the machine had been doing this, however the restaurant had obviously not taken precautions to prevent orders from being dropped. After 20 minutes the meal arrived (everyone else was finished). This was the Sriracha Cod Wrap. First, the cod was over cooked and rubbery. It was hot but not flavorful. Also it did not come with the coleslaw as promised. The fries were delicious as always. The entire meal was not eaten. Complained to the wait staff who said the chef is very particular. We read this to mean they did not care about feed back. At no point in time were we offered compensation for the late order and the fact it was tasteless and not complete. We mentioned to the server that we would be writing a bad review and was disappointed in management. They encouraged us to do that. I gave this 2 stars because the other meals were good. Amazing local pub in the city. Moved to the area recently and keep coming back! Not only are the staff amazing but all the patrons are super friendly as well. Perfect spot to bring your dog on the sidewalk patio.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to fish and chips and there's is delicious! Beats any fish and chip joint in the city. Also recommend a custom Caesar salad they make for me and my friends/fam that we all love. Get it with chicken fingers on top covered in medium hot sauce and then a side of franks to pour on top of everything. So good and pictured below!

Just came back from there again, amazing waitress and met more nice people that were having some beers. Such a treat, always. I watch what I eat during the week and have cheat days on the weekends and keep wanting to come back for more!!!
