Venturing into The Flatiron: A Firkin Pub for the first time, my boyfriend and I embarked on a culinary journey that left us with mixed but mostly positive impressions. While my boyfriend opted for the classic comfort of mac and cheese, I decided to dive into the beloved British staple of fish and chips. The mac and cheese, while enjoyable with its blend of cheeses, didn't quite reach the heights of culinary excitement. It was good but lacked that extra oomph to make it truly memorable. On the other hand, my experience with the fish and chips was nothing short of revelatory. The crispy batter encasing the juicy fish was fried to perfection, striking the delicate balance between crunch and tenderness. Each bite was a symphony of flavours, accompanied by fries that were equally satisfying. In fact, I dare say it was the best fish and chips I've ever had! However, a minor disappointment came in the form of the lack of complimentary veggies. While understandable given the pub's focus on bar food, a little bit of greenery could have elevated the overall dining experience. The Flatiron: A Firkin Pub offers a mixed bag of culinary delights. While the fish and chips stole the show with its crispy perfection, other dishes like the mac and cheese fell slightly short of expectations. Nevertheless, for a cozy pub experience with hearty fare, it's worth a visit. Overall, a solid 3 out of 5 stars from us.

Did not order food so can’t comment on that but we had the worst service here. Our server Laura was not warm or friendly greeting us, brought us dirty glassware (see lipstick), I had to ask for ice water three times (and mention it was my third time asking) before finally getting a glass of ice water. Our server was more concerned with sitting and flirting with another staff member than she was cleaning up the dirty messy patio or providing us with any type of service. Appalled this is acceptable at any establishment, let alone on a patio facing a public street. Would not come back here and would not recommend anyone who wants decent service to come here. Hopefully an off-day for this young woman.

Extremely hospitable management & staff. Went to attend the Santa Clause Parade at the pub & loved the experience. The location is a prime location. Parking around and lots of things to enjoy. And totally worth the visit. They had seafood & vegetarian options as the meats/ chicken was not halal. The food served was delicious & snacks were served with lots of pleasant smiles. The hot chocolate was a delight for the kids and they enjoyed being there too. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Enjoyed :- Nachos Vege Platter Had Fish Tacos 🌮 Vegetarian Spring Rolls & Samosa’s 🫔 Hot Chocolate ☕️

I have been a loyal fan of the Frikin chain for a long time, visiting multiple locations and always enjoying the food and atmosphere.

My family is visiting from outside the country and I thought taking them to the Frikin located at the Flatiron building would be a great experience, but left me incredibly disappointed.

During our visit on Friday, July 5th, around 2 pm, my family and I encountered an unfortunate incident, when my youngest cousin tried to order an extra burger and fries, and the server was extremely rude to him.

My cousin tried to caught his attention and the man yelled at him "do not interrupt me when I'm speaking with a customer", which is funny, because my cousin was also a customer. My cousin, shocked, stopped talking, which made the man snap his fingers and said "hurry up". Obviously that caused a loud confrontation between the man and my cousin and uncle.

The man appeared to be nice to everyone. I genuinely don't know if he was rude to my cousin for being a foreign or young, or both.

When I asked for the manager, it turned out IT WAS HIM!!. So of course we canceled our order and asked for the bill.

Thankfully, our server Melarie responded with professionalism and empathy when we brought the issue to her attention. Her swift action and understanding helped salvage what could have been a disastrous dining experience.

The unfortunate incident has left me questioning the professionalism and values of this particular establishment. I sincerely hope that management addresses this issue to ensure that no other customers have to endure such...

The service in this place is terrible. Walked in and waited in what was an almost empty pub until a server reluctantly came over to seat us. Drink service and meal ordering was ok but then our server disappeared. A different server came with the food and that was the last time anyone came to our table. The food was ok but nobody came to check on us and ask how it was or if we needed anything. Eventually, someone came to collect our plates but again, never asked how our meals were or if we needed anything else. The bar was still almost empty with only a handful of locals drinking and we sat and waited for a server who was too busy playing on his phone to notice that we were awaiting service. Eventually, we had to walk over to the bar and distract the server from his phone to tell him that we had been waiting for service all night. After explaining to him about the poor service, he just stared blankly at us. We won’t be back and would recommend avoiding this place. It has lots of potential but unfortunately with staff like this, it’s no wonder we were the only folks eating in there. If zero for service was an option on this review, we would have selected it. Prices are a little on the high...
