My Mam & I arrived around 1pm for lunch, the server asked me what I wanted to drink, as there was no real choices for non alcoholic I opted for iced tea, she walked away without asking my Mam if she wanted anything. After some time she came back to take our order and walked away twice to see to another customer, we placed our order finally, this time asking my Mam what she wanted to drink. Nothing in the menu jumped out at me so I ordered a tuna salad sandwich, fries with gravy. Mam ordered fish & chips. The iced tea was as weak as water, no taste. I was not given a choice if I wanted ice or not (loaded with ice), the straw that I did not request was placed in my glass by the server. Drink was sent back as it was horrid. Our food arrived and my sandwich was toasted which I did not order it that way, the salad part consisted of limp iceberg lettuce, the fries were no better & only just warm. After having a bite of the sandwich I called the server over to ask what the tuna was mixed with, she stated "onion". I asked her to find out what it was mixed with as it tasted like "miracle whip", she came back stating it was mayonnaise. I informed her it was not mayonnaise and to return it, she came back asking if I wanted anything else & my reply was "no thanks". She informed me that the "cook" (using a nice term for him) had argued with her stating it was mayo, I suggested she ask him to come out & tell me that, 12 hours later I am still waiting for him to come out! The only complaint my Mam had was the tartar sauce did not taste right, I dipped the end of my fork in it and it was the same vile taste as the "mayo" in the tuna!!! It is now almost 12 hours since I had a bite of the sandwich and I am still suffering with heartburn. The past year the food is not up to the usual standards for Watts & that is a shame! We will...
Read moreWatt's Restaurant promised a cozy, casual dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. While our server was absolutely fantastic – friendly, attentive, and efficient – the food and ambiance left much to be desired.
I ordered a hot sandwich, which initially appeared promising. However, upon closer inspection, the meager portion of quality meat was dwarfed by a substantial amount of what can only be described as questionable filler. Frankly, it looked like something I’d hesitate to feed my dog, let alone serve to a paying customer. The side of mashed potatoes was equally disappointing. They were so stiff and congealed in areas that I could pick them up with my fork in a solid, unmalleable chunk. This suggests a lack of attention to detail and raises concerns about the kitchen's quality control.
The restaurant's atmosphere didn't help matters. While I can imagine the space might have been pleasant at some point, the peeling vinyl on the booths and the tattered wallpaper detracted significantly from the dining experience. It created an air of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal (even if the food had been good).
It's truly a shame, because our server was an absolute gem. She was professional, personable, and did everything she could to make our visit enjoyable. She deserves to work in a restaurant that values its customers as much as she does. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff and management at Watt's seem to be letting her down. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant based on the food quality alone, and the dated decor only compounds...
Read moreWell after having an unpleasant experience at a salon in this shopping centre having taken my brother with cerebral palsy to get his haircut, we then went to this restaurant for lunch, met with a very unpleasant attitude by the front hostess/ waitress who was giving me and my brother a very demeaning look as if she didn’t want us there because of my brother being in a wheelchair and said nothing else to me except for a forced sentence “there are table and seats in the back” not offering me any more assistance when I asked which way do I go. I have been to much nicer establishments with my brother in the past and they have all been very friendly and gracious with my brother, never had I dealt with such rudeness. When I did get myself and my brother situated at the back part of the restaurant I ordered fettuccini Alfredo for him and the steak for me. The food was at best mediocre and my meal was supposed to come with a soup that I never got. The place is also quite overdo for renovations as all the seats in the booths look worn out and like they have all been clawed by cats. Needless to say I probably won’t feel inclined to visit this...
