Nice Montreal deli with great desserts. Service: friendly waiter, knows the menu well...saw him both times when we went back. Filled with regulars who frequent for breakfast or want a bagel. Also sells some hard to find snacks such as OMG, Vernor's ginger ale, and Doc Brown's soda. Went here to try latkes but they weren't the best menu item; latkes were soft, outside and inside made with sweet white potatoes? Not the usual spice. Wish they were crispier. Breakfast was tasty, had french toast, which was made from challah toast, which was very soft, sweet and went well with strawberries and cream. For sure a repeat order next time. Omelette is standard, Israeli salad was missing tomatoes as it was too expensive. Israeli salad tasted like sweet dill pickles with the dill, sugar and vinegar. My food mate says the Montreal smoked meat was good, but not as good as Montreal's Reuben's. Bagels are super soft, preferred over Montreal type harder wood fired bagels. Second trip was for late dinner and dessert. Egg salad was good, not salty, but might need some salt for some. Fries were well spiced, home made with skin on, best eaten when hot. Carrot cake is super moist, the best I've tried in Toronto. Coconut cream pie and cheesecake are good but the crust isn't graham...a little soggy. Nutella milkshake was tasty. Prices: Breakfast $14-20 per plate; desserts $12 per piece; shakes $7-8; sodas $3. Overall: Good breakfast, deli and dessert. Will return, just...

This local gem is 10000/10 !!! For quality, quantity/portion and experience with the amazing, sweet owners! Everything was so delicious! We ordered. Corned beef deli, smoked meat deli & a Reuben! Everything just melted in our mouths and the sides were an added luxury! The size of their onion rings was out of this world! Best experience and best smoked meat and deli sandwiches in town! I would love to come back and enjoy forever 🥰 Thanks Zelden’s for the amazing eats!!!! Came back to experience the dine-in experience now that mandates have been lifted and we had such an awesome time!!!! The plating was beautiful and everything tasted SO FRESH all around! Their rootbeer float was to die for !!!!!! Thank you Irene & Shelley for creating such an amazing space 🙏🏼 They both work really hard to keep everything running smoothly and for the food to be consistent & super fresh!!!!!! Can’t wait to be back ♥️

*adding on to this review- we came back for breakfast/brunch and everything was incredible!! It was a full-house, but that didn’t compromise the quality of service and food timing! The French toast is to die for!!!!! Such amazing texture fluffiness and flavour! The plating for the food is spectacular. Cannot wait to come back for dinner and try out...

I discovered this mid-town place after lockdown and have enjoyed numerous return visits since.

From the moment you walk in you will enjoy a classic experience with ultra fresh twists and fantastic food. The decor is perfect with the red & black chairs, display cases and tempting jars.

Extensive menu of deli favourites all served with care. I typically go for the smoked meat sandwich which is delicious and comes in 2 sizes. They do a very nice spicy mustard which adds a nice kick A host of sides are available, all very good. I love the spray bottles of vinegar, pure genius. The Reuben sandwich is another menu highlight. As well as cans they offer some terrific bottled sodas in classic old-time flavours.

I've never had the weekend brunch but I'm told it's a winner so that's on my to-do list.

Saving the best for last, you won't go wrong with any of the delicious house made desserts which are out of this world. Cheesecakes, classic pies and Carrot Cake are all beautifully prepared and incredibly delicious.

Service is attentive and friendly, Cory is wonderful and always goes the extra mile.

A shout-out for the music as well, great playlists of nostalgic hits take me back in...
