They lost our order. After long 40 minute wait, my daughter asked about our food as the kids were getting restless just staying in one spot and 2 meters away from everyone, outside on the sidewalk. Oh, they had put it away instead of calling it out...ok mistakes can happen, but now we had a cold poutine before even leaving the restaurant. But I tried to remember they are working hard. We get the food home my daughter notices her bacon was missing from the burger. Everything is very cold and the gravy is congealed. I was very hungry by this time and dove in. Being from Montreal I know my poutines, and this was not like one from Montreal. Even if they advertise that. Dont belive them...lol Ok I'm used to that, it is hard to find a really good poutine outside Quebec. But then the last straw was the black hair... Eeewwww I was almost done and there was a black hair in my poutine)I looked up their phone number...busy...I looked up their website to let them know my total lack of satisfaction privately. Nope, phone is busy and no email contact anywhere I could fine. Ok I walk to restaurant to complain in person. I did ask for our amount to be refunded as it was very cold, and hair in it. (Start big and see)...he offered me a free drink...Well 72 dollars later and I learned a lesson. I shared it with my grandkids I hope they dont get sick...I'm not going back. He said ya'll would call me a fool.

This has consistently been my favourite restaurant on the drive for years, but some new changes have really disappointed me. A small change that rubbed me the wrong way is the fact that they do not let customers use the restroom anymore. I would understand no public restrooms unless you purchase something, but being locked out of the restroom after an underwhelming meal was very upsetting. Moving onto what really prompted me to write this review: THEY CHANGED THE CHICKEN STRIPS. In the past, they had the most delicious hand-breaded, panko chicken tenders, I would drive out from Richmond for these delicious tenders. Imagine my shock when I order the same thing I've been ordering for years and I am greeted with freezer, premade, cheap chicken strips. So disappointed! The chicken strips used to come with two dips, now they only come with one. Truly an upsetting experience. I'm not sure if there are new owners who are trying to drive away lifelong customers, or if the existing owners are just trying to cut costs at the expense of customer satisfaction, either way I left the restaurant annoyed and underwhelmed.

I asked the Internet for the best poutine in Vancouver and it brought me here. After finding some ultra-convenient street parking for the Sprinter van, I was inside and smelling that delicious smell of fried foods. A quick study of the menu - 18 different poutines available plus hot dogs and sandwiches and burgers - I made my choice. Ten minutes later, I'm digging in to number 14, the "Smoked Beef" which is a Montreal-style smoked beef on top of classic poutine. And for those who don't know, poutine is Canada's gift to the world. French fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. I was "good" and chose the medium because anything more than that would have been pure gluttony. The toppings? Perfect. The fries? Oddly done with a crisp outside and it seemed like underdone inside. Still, delicious and four stars good. The poutine went down well with a beer - is there a better combination than fries and beer? - and I was stuffed. Thanks, Belgian Fries!

We have ordered from this restaurant three times through Skipthedishes and the first two food orders which consisted of poutines and chicken burgers were done correctly and pleasant tasting yet the most recent order it was clearly stated in the app not to put sauce in the chicken burger and to put it on the side but they went ahead and put sauce in the burger.

The sauce is some type of mayo which is high in fat content so for dietary reasons we asked for it on the side so we could choose to apply the mayo or not.

We wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were busy and put sauce in the burger by mistake so the place was called and it was explained to the owner of the restaurant that some of the kitchen staff did not follow the food instructions correctly and put sauce in the burger and made the very reasonable request of being provided a credit for the burger if we ordered again from that establishment.

Rather than accept responsibility for getting the order wrong and graciously extending credit for the burger he proceeded to arrogantly argue and try to blame us saying the food instructions in the app were not clear when they were perfectly clear. A first day employee at a fast food place would correctly interpret and apply instructions for sauce on the side. That is one of the most common and simple requests made by customers. If there was confusion about the sauce instructions they could have called and clarified.

While the poutines and chicken burger we ordered tasted good the large poutine portions are deceiving as it is almost entirely fries with minimal chicken and other ingredients.

Spending money at a restaurant where the owner is not willing to stand by their products, refuses to acknowledge and accept responsibility when they have messed up a order by providing a refund or credit and tries to deflect blame to the customer for something that is his fault as well as some of his staff is risky. There are plenty of fine eateries that have poutines and burgers that are just as good and probably better both in terms of quality of taste and pricing.

We did get a partial refund from Skipthedishes after we explained to them the place got the order wrong. The staff at Skipthedishes were much more professional than the restaurant owner and completely agreed that the instructions for sauce on the side were clear.

For a restaurant to be careless and not properly follow food instructions could be dangerous and potentially harmful as some people are on a particular diet or allergies could...

Firstly, I should say that I've been there many times and have had no major issues but tonight has been quite disappointing. I went over with my 16 years old son and arrived 30 minutes before closing time. The employee at the counter told us, even before we could order, that we would have to take it to go even though there were still half a dozen customers eating. We agreed.and placed our order. Mine was a medium galvaude which is a poutine with pieces of roasted chicken and green peas. I know, I know, that's kinda weird but I'm a Québecer and I was brought up on that stuff... My son ordered a small classic poutine and a hotdog with all the regular condiments: ketchup, mustard, relish and onion. Before we left I looked in the bag for cutlery and napkins which were missing. I asked the lady and she got us some forks while I picked up some napkins. When we got to the park to eat, we were disappointed to see that the order was not quite as expected. My galvaude had no peas, which completely changes the taste. My son's poutine had three lumps of cheese while his hotdogs had no condiment whatsoever except they had put a small container of chopped onions in the bag. The portions are generous but that means nothing if you don't get what you've ordered. The staff is friendly but obviously not on their A-game. As far as I'm concerned, they dropped the ball...
