One of the most consistent and reliable options for takeout if you work downtown. The eggplant bowl is very well done as it has a nice silky texture which can be hard to achieve and it’s complemented perfectly by the chili garlic sauce. I would recommend the roast beef bowl over the steak as it’s more tender. Their rotating weekly specials (pictured) are what keeps me coming back; the chicken katsu has a nice crispy exterior and the sweet & spicy battered shrimp bowl pairs well with fresh cucumber. My main criticism is with the rocket greens as they are served plain, they don’t add much to the bowls on their own and would be better if they were tossed in a light dressing, or replaceable with cooked vegetables. I would also say that the steak and roast beef could be salted better as they seem to rely mostly on the sauce for seasoning. A brown rice option would be nice. Lastly, the miso soup is a great addition for the winter, it’s one of the more flavourful and savoury bowls of miso soup I have had.

My lunch date & I dined at this place & I was pleasantly pleased with my order. I had the vegan garden bowl & rice (I forgot 2 ask if they had brown rice). My friend had the steak bowl & he commented that the meat was a bit tough but on the whole OK. There's no sit down dining at this place but tables/chairs are available in the common hallway area (this place is a takeout only business). Note: For regular customers, they knew where to line up...so for new customers, the establishment should consider a sign indicating where to line up to order. Points are noted to the serving staff for providing cups of water & delivering them to our table after, we picked up order. Yes, we will try this place again & try the items on the menu.

This small Japanese-inspired rice bowl restaurant delivers bold flavours at relatively cheap prices in the heart of downtown Vancouver. We ordered the roast beef bowl and the special of the day which was shrimp and steak. The roast beef came with a poached egg and a miso based sauce. I would say the flavours were good but not outstanding. I felt like the beef could've been marinated more to bring out more of an umami flavour. However the crisp veggies and the rice complimented the beef well. The steak and shrimp bowl had more of a butter-based sauce that was creamy and rich. The shrimp was slightly more undercooked than I would like but the steak was brilliant. Overall, a good lunch spot that's good for a quick grab-and-go.

I had ordered here on line in advance for lunch to avoid the wait. The roast beef rice bowl with egg was decent but overdressed with a very sweet sauce. There was a promotion going on during this time where some folks were getting the same item for a fraction of the price. For some reason despite ordering online 20 minutes at full price before my colleagues who got it at a discounted rate, I received my food 10 minutes after them. We had arrived at the venue at the same time and notified the cashier in the same order. The ordering system, notification, and staff processing of orders is flawed. My customer experience here was very disappointing. Don't come here if you are in a rush expecting timely completion of your take out order...
