Came here with my boyfriend (from Hamilton) for our three year anniversary. I'd have to say the view absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, the food after three tries getting it wrong I would never ever order the steak frites ever again especially from cactus club. The first two times it was remade and the first time I cut into it it was like cutting into an artery and when it came up the second time same thing again completely bloody inside. Then the third time it was so tough it was like shoe leather. After the third time of the screw up of the steak frites, I was so fed up with the food at that point but our waitress Stacy said please is there something else that I can get you. So I did decide to get the butternut squash prawn ravioli which I shouldn't have cus I didn't end up finishing it cus I was so completely turned off any food at that point that I was just bleh. I did end up getting sick from the ravioli as the shrimp was quite rubbery and tasted off. The manager did come over and let us know that this wasn't the level of standards Cactus is known for and it would be taken care of (hadn't gotten the ravioli at this point yet) which I appreciated. We just paid for our drinks. But, like I mentioned after the third time of getting the steak wrong I was about ready to leave to be honest and my boyfriend just sat there patiently waiting while his food got cold and then my ravioli made me sick 🤢. Needless to say the view was spectacular but this is going to be the last time I visit cactus for quite some time and it being our anniversary as well which I did note and mention in my reservation it didn't feel special whatsoever. It definitely wasn't the cactus experience I had hoped for especially being at cactus coal harbour. Read moreFood was great, location was great, host team was great, our service was terrible… my boyfriend and I came for our 2 year anniversary and we will never be back. We came in and the hosts were lovely. They wished us a happy anniversary and thanked us for celebrating with us. When we got brought to our table our server brought us waters and seemed almost immediately put off by us. (maybe its because we were young? My boyfriend is 20 and I'm 19). She did not tell us her name or anything she just said she would be back to get our drink orders. she was also wearing almost like a hooters shirt with nothing covering her. I was kind of shocked seeing this as I thought it was supposed to be a classy establishment. Anyways after we got our waters she did not come back for 25 minutes to even get our drink order. Our drinks came at a reasonable time but our server did not bring our drinks or check on us to see if we liked them or not. Our food came out and the girl that brought it was super sweet and asked if she could get us anything else. We were almost done our meal by the time out server came over and asked how it tasted. Both me and my boyfriend finished our drinks and waited about another 20 minutes to ask if we wanted anything else. But instead of talking to us she just came behind my boyfriend and took his plate while I was still eating. After we got another round of drinks she did not bring aswell we wanted to order more food and had to wait on her another couple minutes for her to come to us. We got an appy to share and again she did not bring it or ask how it was. Once we finished my boyfriend had to call her over and ask for our bill. She brought that over for us and stood behind my boyfriend the whole time watching the machine to see how much he tipped her.( I told him only 15% because everything else was great but not her service) and after she didn't even say thank you and just walked away. Read moreI’ve traveled a lot around the world, but I haven’t been that disappointed from the behavior of a staff anywhere else. Came all the way from Bulgaria to see my Canadian nephew for the first time. We tried to have lunch at Cactus Club Cafe at Coal Harbour on 1st April 2025. When we entered, after few minutes of waiting to be seated, we were informed by the staff that we cannot be seated with the baby stroller of my one month old nephew. We were given the choice to either wait 1 hour for a table with the baby stroller or carry and hold a one month old baby all the time. I didn’t really understand why we can enter and have lunch with our baby, but at the same time we cannot take our baby stroller with us and put it next to the table. We have the Cybex electrically rolling function on the baby stroller, which is very comfortable for parents having nice time in a restaurant and it’s ridiculous to even suggest someone to hold a one month old baby while having lunch. The staff said that they are instructed this way by their managers and on the question which tables could be used with baby strollers, their answer was that at the moment they are very few tables, because some part of the restaurant is not functioning due to lack of staff and we were not even given a chance to be seated anywhere within the restaurant with the baby stroller. As I said, I travel a lot around the world and we traveled recently with my 7 months old son (he was 5 months old at that time) to Qatar and Maldives, and I can tell you that the attitude to parents and kids is superb. My brother and his wife are both Canadian citizens and they were also shocked by this situation. Obviously, the policy of Cactus Club Cafe is not children friendly or at least their staff presented it this way, but as a person operating the best restaurants and night clubs in my country I suggest that you really revise the behavior of your front desk staff, because it’s rude and unacceptable.
