Had the dumplings in soup. Counted 10 very large shrimp dumplings and they tasted fresh and perfectly salted. I was amazed how much I got for $11. My friend had the beef congee and we shared a steamed daikon. This was 4 large pieces for $6. This place is a hidden gem in Tinseltown and is a genuine Hong Kong style restaurant. Service was great. Place was not very busy on BC Day. Price is very reasonable and I will definitely be back. Park for free for 3 hours downstairs. Went back and ordered take out dishes. They were quick and very helpful in packing it in my own bag. The prices online does not reflect the new increased price so make sure to ask when ordering. Pan fried garlic tofu is delicious! Light inside and crunchy outside. The spicy coated deep fried eggplant was also so good. I ate these in the car on the drive home. I suggest eating these two dishes in the restaurant to get the best out of them or they’d be soggy if it sits in a closed container. House special chow mein, preserved fish and diced chicken fried rice, mix mushroom with snow peas, sauté prawn and scallop were also delicious. I can’t detect any msg and it was lightly seasoned. Curry chicken and beef brisket with lettuce were a little on the sweet side. Overall I’m very happy to find this place. I’ve passed it many times over the years until my friend suggest I try their giant dumplings. Although this is in a mall I find the quality better than the restaurant near my house. This place is reminiscent of a bygone time when there were a few good Chinese restaurants to eat in Chinatown.

My friends & I happened upon this place on the way to the market when we cut through Tinseltown Mall in Vancouver Chinatown & we were pleasantly pleased with the food selection. Our dishes of wonton soup (golf ball sized wontons), Sweet'n'sour Stir fried noodles with beef slices) & Seafood congee were "delish". I will definitely return again for another visit to sample the other items on the menu. Good service from the ladies working this past Saturday afternoon on April 21st, 2023. Fantastic food. 2nd Visit - Sept. 10, 2023 - A few of my girlfriends & I lunched again & were gladly pleased with the quality of the food/dishes we ordered. Kudos to the chef as the beef tendons in our noodle soup was delish. The salted fish & chicken niblet fried rice, lo bak gau & stir fried garlic Chinese brocolli were prepared deliciously. My visiting out-of-town girl friend loved the flavorful dishes. Parking is available in the parkade. Lots of room.

Disturbing Experience. I am compelled to share a disconcerting experience I had with Congee Noodle Delight through Uber Eats. In my recent order, I was appalled to find a large bug in my drink. This is not only distressing on a personal level but also raises significant health and hygiene concerns. Such an oversight is unacceptable and casts doubts on the restaurant's commitment to food safety standards. I expected much better from a reputable establishment and am deeply disappointed. I hope this review serves as a prompt for Congee Noodle Delight to re-evaluate their quality control processes and ensure that no other customer has to endure a similar experience.

It was my worst dining experience ever in my entire life. My husband went through the cashier in the normal way, but there is a big bottle of drink placed at the edge of the cashier table and my husband’s elbow pushed the drink. The drink accidentally spilled on a waitress’ phone. She immediately freaked out and screamed: you damaged my phone! I was complaining to my mom that we shouldn’t eat here as the waitress was so upset. She then yelled at me like crazy: you guys are so great that don’t even know to apologize for damaging my phone! It is not we didn’t want to apologize, but she was yelling at us with such bad attitude before we realized what had happened. I just didn’t want to waste our time on this type of person who doesn’t know how to behave. We just walked out without ordering anything. I don’t know why this restaurant hires such type of person. We won’t come here ever again if she is still here.

The detailed sequence of the whole incident (I am not lying I swear to GOD!) My husband went through the cashier, spilled drink to the waitress phone without noticing and went to the bathroom the waitress noticed the phone was spilled then yelled at my husband: You wet my phone Mister! The waitress was starring at me while she try to get the water out of her phone, other staff were helping cleaning, very calm I saw the waitress was so upset so I talked to my mom, we should leave, how can a waitress shouting to a customer! I was leaving the place and went pass the waitress. She shouted to me into my face like crazy: you guys are so great that don’t even know to apologize for damaging my phone! I shouted her back into her face and left.

Respond to owner’s respond that is totally lies: quote from owner's respond: "but accidents do occur, but in this instance our staff were calm and went to immediately clean up the spill" this is absolutely not the truth, the other staff were calm except for the waitress whose phone was spilled, she was yelling at my husband when he went to the bathroom. quote from owner's respond: "while your husband and mother did apologize for your behavior": they said they never apologized for my behavior because my husband was in bathroom while it happened, my mother didn't hear clearly what we were talking about. They did apologize for spilling water on the phone.

Also a word to the owner: if you think I harassed your staff, it is because your staff harassed me first. I was never treated like this before at any eating place.

And NO, my family are not going at your place in future, it was bad experience for them. They apologized just wanted...

COCKROACH found in Noodle soup!!! Friend and I were craving some noodles so we went to Congee Delight yesterday Jan 30th. Typically its a decent experience but this time, my friend found a cockroach, about 3/4 inch in size at the bottom of his soup.

I took pictures for record, but honestly its disgusting... I nearly threw up on the spot. So I don't want to post it up as there is no "hide" or "minimize" option here.

The worst part is I tried to talk to the manager and notify her of the situation. I spoke in English at first showing her the cockroach. She then pretended as if she didn't understand English, I then spoke with her in Cantonese as I heard her speak it with her staff, again she pretended she didn't understand (mind you I speak fluent Cantonese), She then spoke to me in mandarin, then I proceeded to speak with her in mandarin, she then kept silent.

She ended up not charging my friend, but still charged me for my noodles.. the noodles that came from the same broth, kitchen, same everything.

I was not happy about it, both because of what we just ate and ontop of that now, this kind of service? Unbelievable. They wouldn't let me leave until I paid...

I was not going to write a review, as you can tell I don't write any for that matter, as I think reviews can really impact a restaurant, especially ones such as this. But this service and lack of hygiene, I think it's a disservice to the city if I didn't' do something about it.

Watch out everyone when...
