This place is an absolute hotspot for donair enthusiasts, and trust me, once you've had a taste, you'll never look at donairs the same way again.
The donairs are a work of art – think soft, pillowy pita bursting with the freshest, most flavorful meat that's been spinning on the rotisserie to savory perfection. Each bite is like a flavor explosion that'll have your taste buds doing a happy dance. And the platters, oh man, talk about a feast! They pile on all the good stuff – juicy meat, fresh veggies, and sauces that'll make your taste buds tingle with joy.
But what really sets this place apart is the freshness. I mean, we're talking about ingredients that are as fresh as can be. It's like they pluck the veggies straight from a garden and the meat is so tender, you'd think it was carved just for you.
And the location? Right smack dab in the middle of downtown Granville. It's the heart of the city, and this donair joint is like a food oasis in the bustling urban jungle. The vibes are alive, the energy is electric, and the whole experience is just downright unforgettable.
So, if you're on the hunt for super-good donairs and platters that are as fresh and interesting as they come, you'll find your haven right downtown on Granville. Prepare to have your taste...
Read moreI had the Lamb platter and beef donair. I was unaware or had no expectations when getting it delivered. I opened it and started trying out the flavors, but I just kept looking at it, because it was really well placed in terms of flavor. They all mesh together too well. This wasn't just a fast food experience. I'm not talking about value. And each part wasn't mind blowing. The parts together builds and compliments each other. All of them fitted nicely with any combination within each other. So, it's not just about being balanced. There was something deep and methodical about it. It was like a specialist kept refining it until it wants you to show you what it could be. I haven't been there physically, but I would assume the food there is prepared by someone with experience. If I would like to criticize though, the rice could be fluffier, perhaps cooked with a pressure cooker. The banana peppers could be set in some marinade or liquid so it could be more juicy but not too overpowering. The lamb, I think for the price I'm getting the value worth of it, but if I were to say going with the theme of this store, I would rather eat less portions but have something even more flavorful. But, I need to eat here a bit more...
Read moreEnjoyed the falafel platter here, which included falafel over rice, salad (house or Greek), fried potatoes. hummus and pita chips, and an optional fresh pita which I declined since I felt like I already had enough starch on my plate. Price is okay, $17 for the platter, which was very filling. The falafel tasted homemade, heavily seasoned and filled with big pieces of fresh herbs, and are cooked to order. The tzatziki was applied liberally but the consistency was light so it wasn't overwhelming. Deep-fried potatoes usually do not do anything for me but these were good - they were so soft inside they practically melted in my mouth. The pita chips also were really good, crispy and coated in herbs, but were extremely salty. The Greek salad was fresh. Overall a very solid plate, but the pita chips alone made me very thirsty! The two guys working were really friendly, and when they make your plate, they can accommodate special requests like leaving out certain vegetables or dietary restrictions. They can make the falafel plate vegan on request. They have paper plates for the platters for dining in, which is nice instead of having to eat out of a...
