Been wanting to try this place since moving to Van, place is smaller than expected, but the laid back feel of a neighbourhood pub is amazing, definitely hard to come by in downtown Van, little slice of home I guess To give you a better impression of what to expect; cook was out front at the bar area playing nerf gun with a couple of the customers :D Taste 1/1* Ordered the bacon cheese burger, juicy, well balanced, and plenty of lettuce, one of the best pub burgers I’ve had Onion rings were nicely seasoned and crispy Value 0.5/1* Decently priced menu, though having no happy hour was a little bit of a let down, especially when everywhere else has $4 beer for HH, and they had their in-house ar $5.50 For the $2 onion ring upgrade, 10 onion rings feel a bit skimpy Service 1/1* Standard neighbourhood pub style, quick, on point, and friendly Cleanliness 1/1* Aside from the normal wear and tear on the seating and table, I’d say it’s above average when it comes to cleanliness of a pub Overall/Revisit 1/1* Would definitely revisit whenever I’m homesick, or just feeling like having a good burger Paying for Reno? 0/-1* No Above and beyond? 0/+1* No

Went to the Moose for the first time just a couple hours before metal show down the block. The place was packed with a lineup out the door and it appeared like they were possible short staffed. That did not stop them from providing excellent and fast service. Hell, even if it wasn't good service you probably wouldn't notice because the venue itself is so damn cool. Coming to Vancouver from out of town, I used many public washrooms over the weekend and I was surprised to notice that the washroom at the Moose was BY FAR the cleanest one. Even during peak business hours. If I had to criticize, I did find the food to be a little underwhelming. But given the time I was there, I feel like that was to be expected. I would love to return on a quieter day to better explore the menu.

I heard that it used to be a good place with excellent service. It's definitely not anymore. We went there on a Tuesday evening, 2 of us, and there were a couple of tables available. When I asked if it is possible to sit on the booth, the waitress ignorantly said that it is for larger groups, so we had to choose a table instead. 5 mins later that booth where we wanted seat earlier was occupied by a fan-repairman's equipment. When we wanted to order, the waitress didn't let us do so, she wanted to call the other one for no apparent reason. The other lady was also ignorant as hell, seemed that she had no clue about customer service. She didn't say "hi" or anything. Food was okay for $5.95 Service is sadly only 1*

My husband and I went to the Moose Bar and Grill which, after we researched on the internet, was within 3 blocks of our hotel. The food was good. The chicken wings in a sweet maple sauce were enough to share and enjoyed. My husband had one of their BBQ burgers with fries and I had the Rice bowl with vegetables in misu sauce sans zucchni. It was very good, came in a unique bowl and was just the right amount of food to leave room for the CanadianAmerican nutella and m&m's Desertwich. This last indulgence was enough for two people. Yum! The service was questionable at first, as our waitress brought my water with two melted ice cubes. The place was hot after our walk in the beautiful Vancouver sunny weather, (although they did turn on fans later on) and we requested more ice. As the evening went on, however, she warmed up to us, and even visited with us a bit while we paid, using the credit card scanner that was brought to our table. We appreciate that technology being used for security. The bar itself is truly a sports bar with multiple TV's on, last night showing endless video of skateboarding (not necessarily professional or competitions). There is a unique wall of stereo speakers of various sizes through out the ages, and a number of speakers mounted that were blasting out music, my guess is from the videos. One juke box like screen was posting interesting trivia, which we enjoyed. The crowd was made up of mostly young adults, and I would guess that is why it is a place we will not return to, as we are much older, and cannot hear as well...

How can I express how bad this place is... I have honestly never had such a bad experience in any bar or restaurant anywhere ever. And trust me I have been to many. I met my brother whom I see once or twice a year at this place when he was visiting Vancouver on Feb 3 2016. We got there around midnight, had a couple beers and some food. At around 1:30 or waitress came to announce last call and asked us if we wanted to order a last pint, which we did. So far so good! Shortly after that they turned on the lights, started stacking chairs and blasted loud weird noises on the speakers to essentially make us feel uncomfortable and get us to leave. The whole thing was really childish and unprofessional. Some guy came to us to tell us we had 5 minutes to vacate. After 5 minutes we were not done yet so he came back and basically insulted us saying "real men finish their pints in 20 minutes". He obviously had somewhere else he wanted to be. We just couldn't believe it. I told him I had never been pushed out of a bar in such a rude way and he simply replied he didn't care at all. He then pointed to the door and held it open for us until we left. As we walked out the rest of the staff was shouting insults at us. I really wish I could get my money back as this behaviour was in my opinion completely unacceptable and really ruined the whole evening. I don't usually give bad reviews but I really want to save other people from this terrible, terrible experience. There are plenty of bars in the area, do yourself a favor and choose a...
