Atrocious service, no quality control and inedible food!!!! Called to reserve 1/4 tomato slab pizza. They required a credit card number which I reluctantly gave. Travelled an hour to pick up the pizza and when I walked in you could tell things had changed and not for the better! Gave my name and the pizza was handed to me I immediately said it is dry! There was no tomatoes on the top. I wanted to also purchase cannoli, as the pizza and cannoli's are my friends favourites and it was her 70th birthday. They had no original cannoli filling! They did have other fillings which consisted of bright florescent yellow for vanilla and bright florescent green for pistachio as well as others. Took a step back and pondered my situation, as I wanted to bring a smile to my friends face and it didn't look like that was going to occur. Noticed there were 4-1/4 slabs of pizza in the freezer. That is unheard of as it is usually sold out quickly, thus having to reserve it!!! If you know, you know! So many red flags!!! The older server, with grey hair and obviously not Italian, refused to give me a refund!!! I mentioned that it was NOT the same pizza they use to have and she said it was. I said not even close! She said it was. I said surely not!!! I asked if the owner has changed and they said yes. I walked out! Where has quality control and customer service gone????? Usually the place was packed with customers and there were just 4 in the time I had spent there. 2 had walked out as what they were looking for could not be found. Emailed Sheldon, the Director, with my concerns and sent photos and requested a refund. I received a reply from Tina, no title, and she said there would be no refund. I asked that Sheldon reply as she was not the one I emailed! He replied that he was not in the store so his colleague replied. Being in the store or not, you have eyes to see the images and could read the complaint!!!!!! If I had agreed to purchase a mug and it was chipped, would I have to accept?????? Go to Fratelli's for bread and pastries or La Grotta del Formaggio, on Commercial Drive, and purchase your slab pizza and cannoli's from them! Inviting and super friendly staff serving authentic scrumptious, appealing Italian goods!!

I came here specifically to try their St Honore cake for my dad’s birthday since he loves St Honore cakes. So I was excited to try the cake here when I found out they made this kind of cake. It is available with caramel or chocolate filling. I went with the chocolate 6” cake ($45). The cake definitely looks like a St Honore cake on the outside but upon cutting it open, it was more of a black forest cake with a puff pastry. To be quite honest, my dad and I was disappointed. We were expecting the inside of the cake to have the doughnut with the vanilla custard filling but instead it had chocolate cake with chocolate cream between the layers. It tasted decent but it was just not what we were expecting. Black forest cake would have been a more suitable name for the cake. Overall, the cake is not bad. I don’t feel like it was worth the price though I understand costs are high these days. I would have been more satisfied if the cake was more of a St Honore cake rather than a black forest cake.

Bought a Chocolate Raspberry St. Honore Cake for my Mom’s 60th Birthday, very disappointed of the quality from what I thought was a reputable bakery. I called on Friday, requesting the cake be made for Sunday and asked if it would be made to order - I was told yes. Brought it home expecting to be able to eat it right away (wasn’t told anything otherwise), and it was frozen. Normally this would be fine if it was freshly made, but the cake didn’t taste fresh either. The choux pastry was limp and didn’t have any flakiness or crunch, the chocolate custard was still frozen, and the frosting cream was the same bland frosting that you would find on supermarket cakes. The best part of the cake was honestly the fresh raspberries as garnish. Very disappointed and most likely will not go back. Edit: after the response from the owner, I would highly recommend telling your staff for over the phone orders that the cake is frozen, as I did everything over the phone and did not check the website.

Extremely rude staff. I come here weekly during my work breaks and the food is good. However today i ordered a calzone and upon returning to work and biting into it, it was the wrong calzone. So I called the bakery to come in and get the one i ordered but they didnt have any left. I asked them to accommodate me considering i hadnt eaten my lunch due to it being the wrong order and me having to drive back for a second time to get what i originally ordered. Instead they offered to make me a sandwich much smaller than the ones on display for the same price I had paid for the Calzone which was not ok with me considering I paid money to be full and accommodating my wrong order by giving me a much smaller meal for the same price is not good business practice. The asian woman wearing a mask repeatedly interrupted me, was rude, condescending and refused to work with me to get me some food. Again the staff was atrocious and extremely rude. The staff also was rude to me because she said I already ate the Calzone. OF COURSE I ate a couple bites of the Calzone, thats what you do with food however in this situation once i bit into it I saw it was the wrong kind which is why I came back. How else was I supposed to know it was the wrong order without biting into it? Its literally a calzone so its enclosed and you have to bite it to see whats inside. I told the lady I come there weekly and am a loyal customer and instead she said I dont care we dont need you. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE AND ME AND MY ENTIRE STAFF WILL STOP COMING HERE NOW. CONGRATULATIONS ON TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOSING MULTIPLE...

I cannot even begin to explain how terrible this place is on so many levels. First, staff is incredible rude, or at least the one I had the displeasure of dealing with. I won't be exaggerating if I even said racist. Old short haired lady who from the second I started talking to her, she seemed incredibly uninterested and didn't even bother to respond to "how are you". Then when picking my items she'd totally ignore me and chat with another person beside her. After boxing everything behind the counter where I couldn't see, she presented me with a small closed box. I commented that its too small and asked if she's sure everything is in there and even repeated the items, she said yup, all there. Then she leaned towards the girl beside her and whispered something in her ear while both were looking at me! Are you serious? Of course I got home, and the biggest most expensive item was missing, despite me confirming with her it was there. It's my fault of course, I should have opened the box and checked every item when I was already feeling uncomfortable. I'm not going to that dump ever again, and I'll do my best to tell everyone I know not to go there. This does not feel like an honest mistake by any means. Oh yeah, the food was average at best and some items were stale and didn't feel fresh as similar to what some of the other...
