For over a year now, Lovelarte on Robson St. has been my go-to cafe, a spot I find myself returning to at least three to four times a week. Thereâs something truly special about this place that goes beyond the exceptional coffee; itâs the warm ambiance, the consistent hospitality, and the community feel that keeps me coming back. The staff at Lovelarte are absolutely top-tier. They embody what great service should be: accommodating, friendly, and genuinely kind. Whether itâs your first time or hundredth visit, they treat you like a regular, knowing just how to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Ariana and Daniel, in particular, deserve special mention. Their hospitality is simply superb; they anticipate your needs before you even ask, and thereâs an authentic warmth in their interactions that makes every visit feel like a small reunion with friends. A clean environment is non-negotiable for a truly enjoyable cafe experience, and Lovelarte nails it every single time. The team keeps the space spotless, with tables wiped down immediately after customers leave and the restrooms always in pristine condition. Itâs clear that maintaining a pleasant, welcoming environment is a top priority here, and it shows in every corner of the space. And of course, thereâs the coffeeâbecause whatâs a cafe without an unforgettable brew? The Cortado and espresso at Lovelarte are exceptional. The Cortado is perfectly balanced, with a rich, smooth flavor that captures the essence of quality espresso, while the espresso itself is bold, refined, and never too acidic. Itâs obvious that the team takes pride in every cup they serve, and the result is a coffee experience that leaves a lasting impression. The energy at Lovelarte is unparalleled; itâs not just a cafe, but a haven of warmth and comfort amidst the cityâs hustle. Whether youâre in for a quick espresso or looking to spend an hour immersed in work or conversation, this is the place to be. Lovelarte has set the bar for cafes not only on Robson but throughout Vancouver. In short, Lovelarte is the kind of place that leaves a lasting mark on your heart. I wholeheartedly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for not only an excellent coffee but an experience where youâre treated like family. Make the trip; you wonât be...
Read moreOur expensive built-in Miele coffee machine was being temperamental and showing error codes, so I though I would walk passed 2 Starbucks, and a Second Cup (for obvious reasons) and went to this place because I was curious about it.
The first time I asked for a pair of cappucino's, and walked away with 2 luke warm cups of coffee-flavored milk filled to the rim. The weight should have been a clue! The next morning I ordered the same drinks, but cautioned them about the difference between lattes and cappucino's.
Again it happened that I received 2 luke warm cups of milk, filled to the brim, with no foam. So I explained what the problem was and asked them to make them again, which they did, and then I received...EXACTLY THE SAME THING! Their English was poor but not, I thought, that bad.
Further, in my opinion the medium roast Columbian and Ethiopian beans they offer aren't full bodied enough for the service they are being proposed too. But in fairness, I will never know because the single shots of coffee used in their $4.60 small size drinks was overpowered by milk.
The people working their were, in typical Canadian retail tradition, pleasant, but I would have rather they were less friendly, and better trained about how to make coffee. The company should close this place down, as being detrimental to their reputation, but I guess they don't care.
Two strikes and your out. Making coffee is not hard. We won't be going back, and it doesn't look like anybody else ever does because the place is always empty . Something is fundamentally wrong with their coffee philosophy, and head office doesn't care.
Good luck franchising this brand. For some reason Canadians will drink Starbucks bitter unction, because at least that reminds you of coffee, but I don't think people will find anything in this drink to support its affiliation with coffee. Fool me once...there won't be...
Read moreMean Owner, and not kid friendly! We visited this coffee shop today and were extremely disappointed when the shop owner booted them from the outdoor seating area like they were some crack heads. My wife ordered a Latte from the coffee shop and and since my toddler wouldnât eat anything on the menu of the coffee shop, my wife and son sat outside on the seats provided by the shop and ordered a pizza from next door so that our son could nibble on it. Shortly after, the owner came outside and told my wife and son that they had to leave because they have a strict no outside food policy. While I understand that in general circumstances, it is not proper to consume outside food in a restaurant, but I believe the owner should have made an exception in our case as her actions were really heartless:
generally most restaurants in the city will make exceptions for very young toddlers and babies for outside food/drinks as very young children often have discerning pallets - no adults were eating food, and my wife was clearly consuming a coffee purchased from the shop.
we were respectful and deliberate to not consume the food INSIDE the shop but on the empty tables OUTSIDE. The tables were all empty because it was just raining outside.
we were still paying guests- we made sure adults were consuming food/beverage purchased from the coffee shop.
I explained that he was still a toddler but she insisted that it was their store policy and she could not change it - even though she was the owner!
Other random patrons who overheard our conversation, were disgusted by the owners actions and even openly told her they would not come back ever again.
Instead of trying to explain to my kid why the mean lady wonât him eat his pizza, we just left and will...
