Response to owner comment: It seems you would rather shift the blame to your customers than take responsibility for your mistakes. Your response to me is defensive and untrue. After reading a few more responses from you itâs pretty clear you are a defensive person with little customer service training. If this business is your pride and joy you may want to treat the customers who support it with more respect. I have owned 2 personal care businesses and I would never respond to my clients the way you have. Acknowledging the customer and their complaint is step one. Step two, validate how they feel. Step three, apologize. Step four, try your best to make it right. Step five, follow up if needed. You can have the best product out there but you still have to maintain good customer service. Without your customers, especially in the food industry, you have nothing. I honestly hope your product improves and so does your attitude so your business can thrive because it looks like youâve invested a lot of time, money and resources in to it. Donât let it fail because of your ego. âď¸
Original review: Iâm a patient person so I didnât mind waiting a bit to get in and try your ice cream but I wonât be back. We waited AT LEAST 1/2 hour outside and watched about 10 people leave the line. When we entered the store there was only one person working and she had only been there for two weeks! That seems a little unfair to a new employee, put them on alone for their first long weekend? Whomever is in charge of your scheduling may want to consider having more than 1 staff person working during peak hours/holidays. As a customer that was disappointing to see. As for your ice cream, it was ok. I liked the toppings but after reading other reviews I agree, there is something off about the taste. I got the chocolate & vanilla swirl flavour and it was bland and gritty. I appreciate you serving...
Read moreNon-dairy soft serve ice cream! For the longest while, I didn't pay attention to this place because of the overt branding and name, I thought it was just trying to be rebellious for the sake of catching attention. One evening, I googled for ice cream and this place was one of the results, so I checked the website. Then I saw the words 'vegan', 'plant based but not vegan' and 'soft serve'. Ah so! Then it finally dawned on me that this is an ice cream place where I can get lactose free soft serve ice cream. Oooh!!! Since we've become lactose free, I haven't had a soft serve cone. How very exciting... Naturally I went there. The menu was overwhelming because they deliberated misspelled a lot of words which made it doubly hard to figure out the ingredients for each because I kept getting stuck with the typos. My favourite flavour is coffee, but they didn't have it. Since it was an after dinner treat, mint chocolate was the next best thing, so I ordered Menthol Breakdown. Wow, the presentation was awesome. I love it that I don't have to worry about a lactose reaction to the ice cream. The mint 'whipping cream' tasted sort of like cream, but it can't be because it's not even cold. The chocolate soft serve was mixed with vanilla inside, the punk chocolate hard shell was xtra-light and crunchy. Oh, and I love it that the shell, the ice cream, and basically everything was not very sweet. Unfortunately, I breathed it down, so I had to come back another night for the pictures. It's hard not to breathe it down though because it is just so light. Darn, the second cone went too fast as well. Yum â it's...
Read moreI am a vegan and also have several medical restrictions on my diet. For example, I can't have coconut milk, which rules out 95% of the vegan desserts sold in North America. No fruit, no chocolate--yeah, it sucks. I reached out to Perverted ahead of my visit to Vancouver, not feeling too optimistic. However! A phone call and a couple of Instagram messages later, I confirmed that there was a cone I could eat, and in the process confirmed that Perverted has great customer service. I dread making these calls, explaining over and over that no, I can't eat this and that and the other thing (fructose intolerance is real, y'all, and so are weird immune system issues around chronic pain), but the folks at Perverted were so helpful! (For comparison, one other dessert spot in Vancouver never answered my message about ingredients, and yet another had misleading language on its website, claiming their product was cashew-based when in fact the second ingredient is coconut milk. Not cool!) The cone itself was delicious. It was enormous, with a pleasant vanilla soft serve and several toppings incliding an excellent vegan whipped cream, and it was pretty to look at before I ate it--my partner and I took a selfie with our oversized cones and let me tell you: I look so happy in that shot! This was the first waffle cone I'd eaten in more than five years. Perverted, if you ever feel moved to open shops in the US, please start...
