The best Indian restaurant in Vancouver city! Plenty of options for vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers. We visited this place a couple of times for lunch. Preparation is fast and food is tasty. If an Indian restaurant knows how to make proper "Daal tadka or yello daal", it definitely knows how to make Indian food. We tried yellow daal, lacha paratha, smoked eggplanta bharta on our first visit. No need to mention that each dish was rich in flavor. On our second visit we tried aloo paratha, soya chunk tikka masala, lacha paratha, missi roti(gluten free bread) and lassi. Soya chunk Tikka masala(hopefully, I remember its name correctly) with lacha paratha/missi roti is a must try. I am not a big fan of tikka masala but I fancied my chance and glad it worked out very well. Lassi is pretty good too. Its not like thick textured sugary yogurt that you will find in most Indian restaurants. It reminded me of the lassi prepared in most Indian homes. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were served by Neeraj. Not only he took care of our food requests but also recommended some good places to visit(as it was our first trip to Vancouver). Something to improve on: Including tawa-made breads will definitely add more flavor. Only issue: Restaurant is not located on ground floor and requires to climbing stairs. People having difficulty with stairs may find it difficult. Highly recommended. 5/5 in all aspects.

Avoid squandering your hard-earned money at this establishment. I dined at this restaurant for two reasons: positive Google reviews and its proximity to our hotel as we're visiting from other country. I was explicit when ordering Malai kofta, inquiring about the gravy color, and the server assured me it would be white. So, I ordered Malai kofta, 2 Naan, and chicken biryani. To my astonishment, the Malai kofta arrived with a red gravy. When I confronted the server, he insisted this was how they prepared it and refused to acknowledge his mistake. When I asked him about the gravy color, he had no words and stood there smiling. Looking at such behavior I lost my temperament, hunger and just wanted to leave the venue. My husband and I were both hungry, as we were having late lunch and therefore continued to be seated with patience. When the server realized other patrons were observing, he offered to replace the dish, but by then, I had no interest in continuing the meal. Despite his offer, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and have no intentions of returning. We opted to replace the Malai kofta with dal makhani, but by the time the food arrived, our appetites had waned, and we found the food to be overpriced and not worth the trouble. I strongly discourage visiting this establishment, and I won't return. Save your hard-earned money and spend elsewhere.

We were in downtown Vancouver for my medical check-up, so we decided to walk around Robson St. I think the last time we were at Robson was two years ago. It was around lunchtime when we walked around there, and we noticed an Indian restaurant, Spicy 6 Fine Indian Cuisine. We decided to drop in. It was a level up from the street level, and as soon as we entered, we were greeted by a friendly server. The restaurant has a very nice eastern design and ambiance. On one side, there are seating areas by the windows looking down at Robson St. They were offering a buffet for lunch or à la carte, and all the chicken and meat were Halal. After looking at the options in the buffet line, we decided to go for the buffet. To our surprise, we met a group of Malaysians from the Malaysian Consulate and had a brief chat with them. They were a very friendly group. I had Tandoori chicken, goat curry, and rice, while my wife opted for Tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and a couple of vegetable dishes. The best part was the naan. They baked it fresh to order, and it was limitless. We ended up eating eight pieces because it was so fresh.. Overall, the service was good, the staff were friendly, and the ambiance was clean and beautiful. We recommend Halal Spicy 6 Fine Indian Cuisine to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine in downtown Vancouver.
