Went to St. Augustine's on a Friday afternoon around 5. I wanted to make a reservation for me and my party as I was celebrating my birthday. I had sent a request through their website two and a half weeks prior to the date hoping to get a table. Unfortunately they only take limited resrvations as it isn't too large of a place but they had informed me that if we show up they would accommodate us there just might be a wait. I arrived with three of my friends and asked if we could get a table for 10 the hostess said it would be await but she could sit us four and wait for another table to leave before joining them together. Once seated our server had come over promptly to check our IDs then take our first drink order. The beer menu is large as they have about 50 beers or so on tap. Honestly it was a little overwhelming with all choices but once you find a section your familiar with they have some amazing beers. Not long after a table beside us had opened and the hostess helped us pull them together before the rest of my party had arrived. Our server was great with our party and helping decide on some beers to try out. Finally we had ordered food from the menu, I would strongly recommend getting any of the pizzas, they are delicious. Everyone's food came out in a timely manner which we devoured quickly as it was so delicious. The only negative thing I can say about the place is that it gets quite warm on a sunny afternoon in there. It didn't seem like that had air-conditioning or even a fan to get a breeze going but when you're enjoying great beers with friends it's hard to complain. I would definitely be coming back soon to try more beers and food...

So here's the thing I chose those because they fit my narrative. They were the things I enjoyed the most. My waitress was Corey (spelling?) and she served our table of 3.
Beer selection.
They have a plethora of beer to choose from and they are good beers. I just came back from a trip and I didn't realize how tasty and good our beers are. You'll find something regardless and the prices are cheap. The glasses are just shy of a pint, but 7-9$ for almost a pint of craft beer is good. I spent 120$ roughly on 8 beers, 1 flight of tasters, 2 orders of feature fries. That's pree decently price.
Atmosphere.
My friend is super loud and so am I. When we get together with the third we are even louder. We couldn't even notice how loud and obnoxious we were being. It's a loud bar but you can hear yourself talk when you want to. You can have a really good time here.
Staff.
Our server Corey was great. She got us beer quick, always checked on us, spoke to us and didn't seem in a rush to leave right away too. It felt nice to just talk to our server like she was a friend. Real good job.
Once my friend started feeling too sauced, the server called us a cab upon our request. She checked on her to make sure she was okay and brought us extra water. This is not to say she was over served, but she is a bit of a lightweight and she had some of my strong IPAs.
Honestly I'd return to this place all the time. The feature Key Lime Cheesecake in a jar was MAAAAAAAD tasty.
Come here on your next date, hangout, or if you just like beer. You honestly...
Read moreIn the ever-evolving tableau of the culinary world, there's a place that could stand out not just for its food, but for the ethos it embodies. Saint Augustine's, a joint with an unapologetic crush on new York style pizza. My friend and I hammered our carnivorous delights, serves up a Carnivore Pizza that's a decent nod to the New York style we all know and crave. It's a pie that doesn't pretend to be something it's not; it's honest, it's loaded, and it's got that chewy, charred crust that'll transport you to a Brooklyn street corner in just one bite.
Now, let's talk about the seating. They pack you in like sardines, elbow to elbow with strangers. But here's the thing – it's all part of the experience. You're not just there to eat; you're there to rub shoulders with the world, to share a slice and a story with someone you've never met.
And the beers, oh the beers! They've got a lineup of local brews that'll make any beer aficionado's heart skip a beat. Varieties that speak of the land, of the people who craft them with passion and precision. It's a microcosm of the community, each pint a story, each sip a new chapter.
So, if you find yourself at Saint Augustine's, go for the pizza, stay for the beer, and revel in the beautiful mess of humanity squeezed into every square inch. It's not just a meal; it's a slice of life.
Remember, in the words of Bourdain, "Your body is not a temple, it's an amusement park....
