Based on my dining experience, this is the feedback I want to share with you.
-Staff are Japanese speakers, I found their staff seemed attentive and looked stressed. I guess they really hate these jobs and they have no other skills to find better jobs.
-Their prices are reasonable but this store has some good selections of drinks and bento boxes.
-Their snack selections are very limited and I can buy them at a bigger chain Asian supermarket.
-Their pre-made bento box and other appetizer box are usually served cold because they put them in a cold fridge display.
-The bento box taste isn't super delicious and this is the only choice if you are on a tight meal budget.
-This shop offers a stamp card and you can receive one stamp when you spent over 10 dollars. If you collect 5 stamps, you can get a free California roll and you can get a free beef curry or beef bowl if you collect 10 stamps.
-You can use public paid street or public paid Costco lot parking if you come by car and no customer washroom is available.
-The staff don't speak proper English so it's hard to communicate when I have a question about the meal ingredient and price.

Read moreSmall cafe for bento and other quick Japanese meals. Packaged frozen desserts (ice cream, popsicles, etc) are available in a freezer if you want to grab something sweet after your meal, and Oi-Ocha tea bottles (only the matcha variety while I was there) or bottled water to wash it down. Staff are very polite. I got the vege katsu bento, which is almost like a secret item since it’s not displayed on the online or outside menu, just taped onto the menu at the counter. I think they should at least add it online so that people can see they have a vegetarian choice! It was ready very quickly, and the dumplings and katsu were nice and hot. The veggie katsu was not one large cutlet but four smaller pieces, kind of like vegetarian “chicken” nuggets. I liked them. My favourite part of the bento was actually the egg salad; the mashed texture was just right. The bento consisted of lot of pre-cooked stuff thrown together, so it’s missing the appeal of a fresh-cooked meal, but for a quick convenience meal it was very nice. There was a good assortment of dishes in the bento and the complete meal was satiating but...
Read moreI had high expectations for this new Japanese bento place, as I was hoping it would be like a trendier version of Fujiya (tasty sushi and bento sets with great value). The service was great and there were many snacks to look at (many of which I’ve never seen at Konbiniya on Robson St) while waiting for my order to come out. The end result is that even though the presentation was nice, the food portions were extremely disappointing. My chicken bento had only 4 TINY slices of chicken, each slice about the size of my index finger. At first glance, I could tell there were less than 80 grams of chicken with only a handful of rice and 3 tiny side portions - obviously not enough for lunch. My partner still needed to eat another full meal after he finished his bento. The bentos were also more pricey...
